Job summary

Qualifications

• Familiarity with measuring instruments and dimensional inspection.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC / Hydraulic / Power Press Punching Machines for sheet-metal components.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions and specifications.
• Set up the machine, select appropriate tools and ensure correct machine parameters.
• Check component dimensions using Vernier caliper, measuring tape, gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Maintain production records and machine-related documentation.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams for any drawing or process-related issues.
• Follow 5S, safety procedures and PPE requirements at the workplace.
• Minimize material wastage and ensure proper utilization of sheet metal.

Job description

We are looking for a skilled Punching Operator to operate punching machines used for sheet-metal fabrication in the manufacturing of LV electrical control panels. The candidate will be responsible for accurate punching, drilling, cutting and preparation of sheet-metal components as per approved drawings and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC / Hydraulic / Power Press Punching Machines for sheet-metal components.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions and specifications.
• Perform punching, drilling, cutting and related sheet-metal operations as per drawings.
• Set up the machine, select appropriate tools and ensure correct machine parameters.
• Check component dimensions using Vernier caliper, measuring tape, gauges and other measuring instruments.
• Ensure accurate hole positions, cut-outs and dimensions as per drawing.
• Identify and report defects, dimensional deviations and machine abnormalities.
• Maintain proper sequence of production and achieve daily production targets.
• Ensure proper identification and handling of punched components.
• Follow 5S, safety procedures and PPE requirements at the workplace.
• Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the machine and work area.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality and Engineering teams for any drawing or process-related issues.
• Minimize material wastage and ensure proper utilization of sheet metal.
• Maintain production records, inspection records and machine-related documentation.
