The role requires liaising with internal PM/SSM, Bid Manager, Project Team, and external partners to ensure timely delivery and alignment with contractual requirements.

Strong English fluency and extensive industrial project experience are essential.

Overview

As a member of the Project Core Team, the Project Planning Manager liaises with internal stakeholders—including PM/SSM, Bid Manager, Project Team, Site Engineering Planning Manager, and other Planning Managers—and external partners such as suppliers, consortium partners, and customers when appropriate. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining the project schedule (both internal and customer) to efficiently manage time commitments across the tender, contract, or program execution phases.

Responsibilities
In Tender
  • Analyze the schedule management requirements of the Customer, including contractual tools, schedule structure, and reporting constraints.
  • Define the tender preparation schedule and monitor it until tender submission.
  • Develop the tender schedule using Reference Library templates, gap analysis, Metiers commitments, and PXO tender strategy.
  • Highlight the critical path and risks linked to the project schedule, and propose optimisation and mitigation actions.
  • Contribute to the project strategy in compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Participate in defining schedule interfaces with partners and the Customer.
  • Deliver all schedule deliverables on time at the required level.
  • Estimate the cost of scheduling management effort.
In Contract or Program Execution
  • Define and maintain the Project Time Management Plan.
  • Lead the project scheduling community for multi‑Unit projects (coordinating meetings, minutes of meetings, etc.).
  • Detail and update the project schedule based on contractual targets and data from all stakeholders.
  • Propose the project baseline and secure its acceptance internally and from the Customer.
  • Ensure consistency of all internal and external stakeholder commitments and manage schedule interfaces.
  • Organise and lead periodic project schedule sessions.
  • Participate actively in project core team meetings.
  • Provide a timely updated schedule situation highlighting gaps between actual and baseline.
  • Identify potential delays early.
  • Prepare schedule and progress reports for Customer, Lead Unit, or Partners.
  • Support the Project Manager on schedule‑related issues.
  • Develop and maintain schedule templates for the Reference Library.
For All
  • Apply the Project Scheduling Process.
  • Contribute to the return of experience (REX) and improvements, sharing best practices.
Performance Measurements
In Tender
  • On‑time delivery of all tender deliverables required by the RFP.
  • On‑time delivery of schedule analysis for the Tender Team, covering critical path, compliance with tender strategy, planning risks, mitigation plans, and ambitions.
  • Identify gaps between the tender schedule and Platform Reference Library schedule.
In Contract or Program Execution
  • Baseline approval internally and from the Customer.
  • Regular and consistent scheduling updates with analysis of potential delays and proposed action plans.
  • On‑time delivery of KPIs (OTD, documentation, gate review GO on time, sales, cash).
Qualifications & Skills
Education
  • Engineering Graduate.
Experience
  • 10‑12 years of experience in project management and industrial background.
  • Experience working with internal processes such as tenders, projects, engineering, industrial, sourcing, supply chain, quality and their interfaces.
  • Proficient in English.
Technical Competencies
  • Good overall knowledge of railway products and systems.
  • Ability to juggle internal and customer schedules, simulations, and various scenarios, adjusting to changing project goals.
