Job summary

Algihaz Marine is seeking a Project Planner to develop, update, and maintain the detailed project schedule across marine and offshore projects. Working under the Project Controls Manager, you will ensure alignment with execution strategy, track progress, forecast delays, and provide accurate reporting to support project and client decisions.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Marine Operations and Commissioning teams; prepare baseline schedules in Primavera P6;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Marine / E&I) or equivalent technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in planning/scheduling for offshore, marine, or EPC projects.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the baseline project schedule using Primavera P6 (or equivalent).
• Develop and update detailed level 4/5 schedules for fabrication, offshore installation, hook-up, and commissioning.
• Monitor project progress, update schedules, and forecast completion dates.
• Analyze critical paths, float, and resource allocations to identify risks or opportunities.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports, dashboards, and S-curves for internal and client use.

Role Summary

The Project Planner is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining the detailed project schedule throughout the lifecycle of marine and offshore projects. Working under the guidance of the Project Controls Manager, the Planner ensures alignment of planning deliverables with project execution strategy, tracks progress, forecasts potential delays, and provides accurate reporting to support project and client decision-making. The role is critical in monitoring interface schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, marine operations, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the baseline project schedule using Primavera P6 (or equivalent), ensuring alignment with contract requirements and work breakdown structure (WBS).
• Develop and update detailed level 4/5 schedules for fabrication, offshore installation, hook-up, and commissioning.
• Integrate inputs from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Operations teams.
• Monitor project progress, update schedules, and forecast completion dates.
• Analyze critical paths, float, and resource allocations to identify risks or opportunities.
• Participate in internal and client progress meetings, presenting schedule updates and variance explanations.
• Maintain look-ahead schedules and progress tracking registers.
• Ensure compliance with planning procedures and project control processes.
• Support change management processes through impact analysis of variations and delays.
• Liaise with subcontractors for alignment and integration of their schedules.
• Provide earned value metrics and schedule performance indices (SPI).
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports, dashboards, and S-curves for internal and client use.
• Coordinate closely with cost engineers and document controllers for consistent reporting.

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Marine / E&I) or equivalent technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in planning/scheduling for offshore, marine, or EPC projects.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

Desirable:

• PMP or equivalent project management certification.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and integrated QHSE systems.

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced knowledge of project scheduling concepts (CPM, float, lead/lag, constraints).
• Ability to translate project scopes and methodologies into logical, resource-loaded schedules.
• Proficient in Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel (pivot, dashboards), and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and meetings.
• Skilled in S-curve, histogram, and SPI/CPI reporting.
• Good understanding of interface between planning, cost, and procurement disciplines.
• Team player with high attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate development of project schedules and reporting tools.
• Interface with Project Engineers, Site Managers, and Superintendents to collect progress data.
• Monitor physical progress and percent completion for engineering, procurement, and site activities.
• Identify slippages, propose recovery plans, and update schedule scenarios accordingly.
• Maintain planning deliverables such as WBS, activity codes, calendars, and progress rules.
• Support tender and proposal teams with schedule development when required.
• Assist Project Controls Manager with delay analysis and extension of time (EOT) justifications.
• Maintain planning file records for audit and close-out purposes.
