Job summary

Orcapod Consulting Services in India seeks a seasoned Project Planner to develop and manage master schedules, implement WBS and CBS structures, and coordinate cross-functional planning with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

The role requires extensive Primavera P6 experience, CPM knowledge and ability to perform schedule risk analyses, progress tracking and reporting to drive on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• 810 years of relevant experience in Project Planning, Scheduling or Project Controls.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Primavera P6.
• Experience in developing and managing integrated project schedules.
• Strong understanding of WBS, CBS, baseline schedules, milestones and activity sequencing.
• Good knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) and critical path analysis.
• Experience in progress measurement, schedule variance and delay analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Project Planning & Scheduling strategies, plans and procedures in line with project objectives and client/contractor requirements.
• Develop, maintain and monitor Master Project Schedules, Baseline Schedules and detailed Level 3/Level 4 schedules.
• Coordinate development and implementation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in coordination with Project Managers, Project Leads and Project Planners.
• Integrate contractor, vendor, engineering, procurement and construction schedules into the overall project/program schedule.
• Monitor schedule progress and provide schedule performance analysis, progress measurement and reporting.
• Establish and maintain schedule baselines and monitor actual progress against planned/baseline dates.
• Perform Critical Path Analysis (CPA) and identify critical and near-critical activities affecting project completion.
• Conduct schedule risk analysis and identify potential schedule risks, constraints and mitigation measures.
• Analyse deviations from the baseline/master schedule and identify bottlenecks, delays and slippages.
• Recommend corrective and recovery actions to improve project schedule performance.
• Analyse the schedule impact of change orders, variations, delays and scope changes.
• Prepare what-if scenarios, recovery schedules and mitigation plans where required.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commercial, Project Management, Vendors and Contractors to ensure schedule accuracy and completeness.
• Track engineering deliverables, procurement activities, vendor milestones and construction progress.
• Ensure timely incorporation of vendor/supplier and contractor schedule updates into the integrated planning system.
• Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports, dashboards, schedule reports and management presentations.
• Prepare staffing, engineering and construction progress reports and customized schedule reports.
• Provide schedule inputs for Monthly Project Reports and project performance reviews.
• Support project teams with schedule forecasting, milestone tracking and completion-date analysis.
• Maintain overall integrity and quality of project schedules and ensure compliance with planning and scheduling procedures.
• Provide planning and scheduling expertise and promote best practices in project controls.
