Job summary

SGS & Co in Chennai, India invites a seasoned Project Planner to lead end-to-end planning and execution across client projects. You will collect requirements, define scope, milestones, schedules, and allocate resources to ensure timely delivery.

You will manage client and stakeholder communications, maintain content in client portal, monitor risks and budgets, and drive governance and reporting to keep projects aligned with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and understand project requirements from clients and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate project activities and ensure alignment with business objectives and client expectations.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address issues impacting delivery.
• Maintain and manage project-related content within the Client Portal.
• Map deliverables, documentation, workflows, timelines, and resources in the portal and ensure governance standards.
• Analyze project cost structures, risks, dependencies, and constraints; track performance metrics and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and more.

• Ensure clear documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Content Mapping & Client Portal Management

• Maintain and manage project-related content within the Client Portal.
• Map project deliverables, documentation, workflows, timelines, and resources accurately in the portal.
• Ensure content structure, navigation, and accessibility support stakeholder requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to keep portal content updated and aligned with project milestones.
• Monitor content completeness, accuracy, and governance standards within the portal.
• Support implementation of best practices for project documentation, content organization, and knowledge management.

Project Financial & Risk Management

• Analyze project cost structures and identify significant variances from approved budgets.
• Evaluate project risks, dependencies, and constraints.
• Define potential problems and recommend alternatives considering costs, timelines, and quality requirements.
• Track project performance metrics and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Operations, and other departments throughout project planning and execution.
• Participate in project feasibility assessments and approval processes.
• Support business initiatives requiring cross-functional coordination and execution.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Assist in implementing workflow management and reporting tools focused on:

• Efficiency
• Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and improve processes, policies, and workflows.
• Identify opportunities to streamline project delivery and enhance customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Development

• Provide guidance on project management best practices and methodologies.

Governance & Reporting

• Conduct project reviews according to established processes and governance frameworks.
• Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards, quality requirements, and project management methodologies.
