Job Description: Manager – Project DeliveryPosition Overview
The Manager – Project Delivery is responsible for planning, coordinating, and successfully delivering projects from initiation through closure. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, operational discipline, and the ability to manage scope, schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and quality standards. The position will work closely with cross-functional teams, clients, vendors, and senior management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within approved budgets, and in alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of projects, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Translate business requirements and project objectives into clear delivery plans, milestones, workstreams, and measurable outcomes.
- Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, resource requirements, and success criteria.
- Establish project governance structures, operating procedures, review mechanisms, and reporting standards.
- Coordinate the activities of internal teams, external partners, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and take timely corrective action to address delays, issues, scope changes, and delivery risks.
Team and Resource Management
- Lead, guide, and motivate cross-functional project teams to achieve project objectives.
- Allocate responsibilities based on skills, project priorities, and workload requirements.
- Track resource capacity, utilization, productivity, and delivery performance.
- Promote collaboration, accountability, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within project teams.
- Identify capability gaps and support team development through coaching, feedback, and performance discussions.
Stakeholder and Client Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for project-related communication and delivery matters.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, business leaders, functional teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project reviews, status meetings, steering committee updates, and stakeholder presentations.
- Communicate project status, achievements, risks, dependencies, decisions, and action plans in a clear and timely manner.
- Manage expectations and facilitate resolution of concerns, escalations, and conflicting priorities.
Budget, Scope, and Schedule Control
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cost trackers, and financial reports.
- Ensure project expenditure is controlled and aligned with approved financial plans.
- Manage scope changes through structured impact assessment, approval, documentation, and communication.
- Track project milestones and critical paths to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, action logs, decision logs, and status reports.
Risk, Issue, and Quality Management
- Identify, assess, document, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.
- Develop mitigation and contingency plans and monitor their effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalate critical risks and unresolved issues through the appropriate governance channels.
- Establish quality standards, review checkpoints, acceptance criteria, and delivery controls.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with organizational policies, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and agreed service standards.
- Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned to improve future delivery outcomes.
Governance and Reporting
- Implement project management methodologies, tools, templates, and governance frameworks appropriate to the project environment.
- Prepare executive-level dashboards and reports covering schedule, cost, scope, quality, risks, issues, resources, and overall project health.
- Maintain complete and auditable project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support portfolio prioritization, project intake, capacity planning, and delivery performance reviews.
- Promote standardized delivery practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, programs, or complex delivery initiatives from planning through successful completion.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, governance, risk management, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
- Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, Agile certification, or an equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Asana, or equivalent platforms.
