Position Overview

A Senior Civil Engineer with 15 to 25 years of professional experience is responsible for leading, managing, and delivering complex civil engineering projects across all phases—from planning and feasibility through design, construction, and closeout. This role provides high-level technical guidance, ensures regulatory compliance, mentors engineering teams, and collaborates with clients and stakeholders to achieve project objectives. The engineer is recognized as a subject-matter expert and contributes to strategic decision-making within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

• Lead the planning and execution of all civil and structural works for residential, commercial, plotted, or mixed-use projects.
• Prepare project execution plans, work schedules, and construction timelines.
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for execution accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and project milestones.

2. Site Supervision & Construction Management

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure proper construction practices are followed.
• Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and labour teams.
• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship; ensure compliance with IS codes and standards.
• Resolve technical issues that arise during construction.

3. Quality Assurance & Safety Compliance

• Implement and enforce QA/QC processes at all project sites.
• Conduct periodic inspections, non-conformance assessments, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, statutory norms, and company EHS policies.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety audits, and training for site staff.

4. Project Budgeting & Cost Control

• Assist in project estimation, BOQs, tendering, and contractor evaluations.
• Monitor material consumption, labour utilization, and prevent wastage.
• Certify contractor bills, verify measurements, and ensure cost control.
• Forecast resource requirements and update management on deviations.

5. Coordination With Stakeholders

• Collaborate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, and PMC agencies.
• Liaise with government authorities (BBMP, BDA, BWSSB, KPTCL, Pollution Control Board) for approvals and inspections.
• Work closely with procurement, planning, and contract teams for project needs.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily/weekly/monthly site progress reports.
• Prepare DPRs, WPRs, MPRs, snag lists, and handover documentation.
• Track project progress, identify risks, and report delays to management.
• Ensure complete documentation for RERA compliance and audits.

7. Team Leadership

• Mentor and guide junior engineers, supervisors, and site staff.
• Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure cross-team coordination.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

• B.E./B.Tech / M.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 15–25+ years’ experience in real estate/construction sector with hands‑on site execution.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, finishing works, and building services coordination.
• Expertise in local building bylaws, NBC, IS codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, Primavera, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS, design and modelling tools and construction management tools.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Work experience with real estate developers (residential, commercial, villa, plotted development).
• Exposure to high‑rise buildings, luxury housing, Commercial Development and mixed‑use development projects in Bangalore.
• Strong understanding of soil conditions, concrete grades, waterproofing, and advanced construction methodologies.
