Job summary

Satya Solar Systems Pvt. Ltd. in Lucknow is seeking a Project Supervisor – Open Access Solar Projects to supervise on-site execution of MW-scale solar power projects, ensuring civil, structural and electrical activities meet drawings, specs, safety and grid requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in utility-scale solar projects, open-access solar parks or ground-mounted construction.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, EPC execution or renewable-energy project supervision.
• Strong understanding of MW-scale solar plants, mounting structures, modules, inverters, transformers, HT panels, substations, transmission lines, earthing and SCADA systems.
• Ability to read plant layouts, Single Line Diagrams, BOQs, GFC drawings, cable schedules and technical specifications.
• Willingness to work at project sites and coordinate with contractors and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Review approved drawings, BOQs, project schedules, technical specifications and method statements before execution.
• Plan and supervise daily civil, structural, mechanical and electrical construction activities at the solar project site.
• Supervise land grading, roads, drainage, fencing, foundations, mounting structures, module installation and equipment foundations.
• Monitor installation of inverters, transformers, HT panels, control rooms, pooling substations, cables, earthing and SCADA systems.
• Coordinate HT cabling, transmission lines, power-evacuation, metering and grid-interconnection works.
• Assign and monitor work by technicians, electricians, contractors and site labour.
• Ensure activities comply with drawings, specifications, manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
• Monitor material receipt, storage, usage, shortages and reconciliation.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure PPE and permits are used correctly.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, procurement teams, contractors, vendors, customers and authorities.
• Track daily progress, productivity, equipment deployment, delays and risks.
• Prepare progress reports, site photos, manpower and material reports and work-completion updates.
• Support inspection, testing, pre-commissioning, grid synchronization and handover.
• Maintain records of drawings, site changes and as-built information.

Job description

The Project Supervisor – Open Access Solar Projects is responsible for supervising and coordinating the on-site execution of MW-scale ground-mounted solar power projects. The core purpose is to ensure that civil, structural and electrical activities are completed safely, correctly, within the approved timeline and according to drawings, technical specifications, quality standards and grid-connectivity requirements.

• Review approved drawings, BOQs, project schedules, technical specifications, method statements and site requirements before execution.
• Plan and supervise daily civil, structural, mechanical and electrical construction activities at the solar project site.
• Supervise land grading, internal roads, drainage, fencing, foundations, mounting structures, module installation and equipment foundations.
• Monitor the installation of inverters, transformers, HT panels, control rooms, pooling substations, AC/DC cables, earthing, lightning protection and SCADA systems.
• Coordinate the execution of HT cabling, transmission lines, power-evacuation systems, metering arrangements and grid-interconnection works.
• Assign and monitor work performed by technicians, electricians, contractors, subcontractors, equipment operators and site labour.
• Ensure that all activities are completed according to GFC drawings, approved specifications, manufacturer guidelines and applicable safety standards.
• Monitor material receipt, unloading, storage, issuance, utilisation, shortages, damages and reconciliation.
• Conduct daily safety briefings and ensure proper use of PPE, work permits, lifting procedures, electrical safety and work-at-height precautions.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, procurement teams, contractors, vendors, customers, landowners and local authorities.
• Track daily progress, manpower productivity, equipment deployment, pending work, technical issues, delays and site-level risks.
• Prepare daily progress reports, site photographs, manpower records, material reports, measurement sheets and work-completion updates.
• Support inspection, testing, pre-commissioning, punch-point closure, grid synchronisation, performance testing and project handover.
• Maintain complete records of drawings, site changes, inspection reports, test reports, material consumption and as-built information.

Qualifications

• Primary Education: ITI, Diploma, B.E. or B.Tech preferred in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Certifications: Training in solar PV installation, electrical safety, working at height, first aid, construction safety, quality management or project supervision will be an added advantage.
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience in utility-scale solar projects, open-access solar parks, ground-mounted solar construction, substations, transmission lines, EPC execution or renewable-energy project supervision.

• Strong understanding of MW-scale solar plants, mounting structures, modules, inverters, transformers, HT panels, substations, transmission lines, earthing and SCADA systems.
• Ability to understand plant layouts, Single Line Diagrams, BOQs, GFC drawings, cable schedules and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of civil works, structural installation, electrical execution, HT cabling, power evacuation, testing and grid synchronisation.
• Strong contractor management, manpower handling, material control, safety monitoring, quality inspection and reporting skills.
• Ability to identify execution problems, coordinate corrective actions and complete work within project deadlines.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, email, WhatsApp, mobile reporting applications and digital project trackers.
