Job summary

Aditya Birla Insulators is seeking a Lead Project Manager to drive end-to-end coordination for utility-scale Solar PV projects from the Head Office in Mumbai.

You will partner with Site Construction Heads, EPC contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery, governance, and asset handover; extensive travel to project sites will be required.

The role demands strong solar project management experience, stakeholder management, and certifications like PMP/PRINCE2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or equivalent.
• 15–20 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV project management.
• Proven track record from planning through commissioning.
• Strong solar project management, EPC coordination, and grid connectivity knowledge.
• Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.
• PMP/PRINCE2/ PMI or equivalent certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive overall project governance to deliver utility-scale Solar PV projects on time, within budget and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Land Acquisition, EHS, Commercial, and OM teams.
• Monitor milestones, identify risks, and resolve critical issues.
• Support Site Heads by removing bottlenecks and enabling timely decisions.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, suppliers, and consultants to align deliverables.
• Interface with senior management, utilities, and regulatory authorities.
• Prepare dashboards, governance reports for leadership reviews.
• Oversee commissioning handover activities and project closure.

Education

B.E./B.Tech (Mandatory) Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or equivalent Engineering

15–20 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV Project Management

Proven experience managing Solar PV projects from planning through commissioning

Strong understanding of solar project management, including EPC coordination, pooling substations, transmission connectivity, commissioning and governance

Experience coordinating with Site Construction Heads, EPC contractors, OEMs, Engineering, Procurement, Land Acquisition, and Commercial teams

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

Willingness to travel extensively to project sites

PMP, PRINCE2, PMI, or equivalent Project Management certification (added advantage)

1) Job Purpose

Lead endtoend project management of utilityscale Solar PV projects by driving crossfunctional coordination, resolving execution bottlenecks, and ensuring timely project delivery. Based at the Head Office, the role partners with Site Construction Heads and key stakeholders to enable seamless execution through regular site visits and effective project goverce.

The role is responsible for monitoring project progress, coordinating across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Land Acquisition, Commercial, EHS, and EPC teams, and resolving critical execution issues to keep projects on schedule. Success requires strong solar project management expertise, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive alignment across multiple teams without direct ownership of site construction.

Project Management Goverce Drive overall project coordination to ensure delivery of utilityscale Solar PV projects within approved timelines, budget, and quality standards.

Crossfunctional Coordination Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Land Acquisition, EHS, Commercial, Fice, and OM teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Project Monitoring Track project progress, monitor key milestones, identify execution risks, and drive timely resolution of critical issues.

Construction Support Support Site Heads by resolving interfunctional bottlenecks and facilitating timely decisions to ensure uninterrupted project execution.

EPC Vendor Coordination Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, suppliers, consultants, and vendors to align project deliverables and resolve execution challenges.

Stakeholder Management Interface with senior management, internal stakeholders, utilities, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Risk Issue Resolution Identify project risks, drive mitigation plans, escal… etc.

Commercial Schedule Reviews Review project progress, contractual commitments, resource requirements, and recovery plans to ensure adherence to project timelines.

Commissioning Handover Coordination Coordinate with commissioning and OM teams to ensure smooth project completion and successful asset handover.

Reporting Goverce Prepare project dashboards, management reviews, and goverce reports for leadership decisionmaking.

Qualifications
