Head – Showroom Expansion & Retail Experience
Role Purpose
To lead the planning, execution, and continuous enhancement of premium showroom environments across the organization. The role is responsible for delivering world-class retail experiences through effective showroom expansion, visual merchandising excellence, project management, brand consistency, and customer-centric design while ensuring projects are completed within budget, timelines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Showroom Expansion & Project Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of new showroom launches, renovations, refurbishments, relocations, and retail transformation projects across multiple locations.
- Develop project execution plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Monitor project milestones, execution quality, costs, and timelines to achieve defined business objectives.
- Ensure all showroom projects are completed in compliance with approved design standards, specifications, and brand guidelines.
Retail Design & Visual Merchandising
- Drive implementation of showroom concepts, layouts, fixtures, displays, signage, lighting, and customer engagement zones that enhance the overall retail experience.
- Establish and standardize visual merchandising guidelines and execution standards across all showrooms.
- Continuously evaluate and upgrade showroom aesthetics to reflect evolving customer preferences and premium brand positioning.
- Collaborate with design agencies, architects, and merchandising teams to develop innovative retail environments.
Customer Experience & Brand Excellence
- Create immersive and differentiated customer experiences that strengthen brand perception and drive consumer engagement.
- Ensure consistent execution of luxury and premium retail standards across all showroom locations.
- Conduct customer journey assessments and identify opportunities to improve experience, product discovery, and conversion.
- Partner with marketing and sales teams to enhance showroom-led brand activation and customer engagement initiatives.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with architects, contractors, fabricators, consultants, branding agencies, and project vendors.
- Negotiate commercial terms, monitor vendor performance, and ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, procurement, commercial, and regional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Resolve project-related issues and escalations in a timely manner.
Retail Governance & Operational Excellence
- Develop and implement showroom design standards, execution SOPs, audit frameworks, and governance processes.
- Conduct regular showroom audits to ensure compliance with brand, design, operational, and visual merchandising standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution efficiency and showroom effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, quality, and operational requirements during project execution.
Budgeting & Performance Management
- Manage annual showroom expansion and refurbishment budgets.
- Track project costs, vendor expenditures, and capital investments to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Monitor showroom performance indicators and recommend enhancements to maximize return on investment.
- Support business expansion plans by identifying opportunities for retail footprint growth.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and mentor project execution, visual merchandising, and retail operations teams.
- Establish performance objectives, capability-building initiatives, and succession plans for key team members.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and customer-centricity.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing large-scale showroom expansion and retail transformation projects.
- Strong expertise in premium retail design, visual merchandising, customer experience, and project management.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously across different geographies.
- Strong understanding of luxury retail standards, brand environments, and experiential customer engagement.
- Experience working with architects, consultants, contractors, fabrication agencies, and branding partners.
- Knowledge of retail space planning, fixtures, materials, lighting systems, signage, and display solutions.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies, budgeting, vendor management, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, AutoCAD, SketchUp, or related retail planning tools.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and leadership capabilities.
