Job summary

Howell Protection Systems India Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an FA/PA/IT Engineer to oversee the installation, testing, commissioning and integration of Fire Alarm, Public Address, and IT/Networking systems across ELV projects.

Role requires hands-on technical capability, strong documentation, and effective coordination with clients, consultants, vendors and project teams. You will review drawings and prepare handover documentation while ensuring quality and safety standards on site.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, BOQs, method statements and project schedules.
• Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of FA, PA and IT/Networking systems.
• Configure fire alarm panels, detectors, modules, loop devices, amplifiers, speakers and related field equipment.
• Carry out cable routing, testing, fault rectification and device addressing.
• Integrate ELV subsystems with BMS, CCTV and access control as required.
• Prepare schedules, test/commissioning reports and handover documents.
• Coordinate with MEP teams, consultants, OEMs and clients to resolve issues.
• Monitor workmanship, progress, material usage and safety standards.
• Provide guidance to technicians and site teams; allocate tasks and verify completion.
• Attend inspections and support final system handover.
• Diagnose faults and perform preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Job description

The FA / PA / IT Engineer will be responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, integration and maintenance of Fire Alarm, Public Address and IT/Networking systems across ELV projects. The role requires strong hands-on technical capability, disciplined documentation and effective coordination with clients, consultants, vendors and project teams

Review approved drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements and project schedules before execution.

Supervise and execute the installation, testing and commissioning of Fire Alarm, Public Address and IT/Networking systems.

Configure fire alarm control panels, detectors, modules, loop devices, amplifiers, speakers, controllers, switches, routers, access points and related field equipment.

Carry out cable routing checks, continuity testing, insulation testing, loop testing, network testing, device addressing and fault rectification.

Integrate ELV subsystems with BMS, CCTV, Access Control and other third-party platforms, wherever required.

Prepare device schedules, cable schedules, test reports, commissioning reports, snag lists, as-built drawings and handover documentation.

Coordinate with MEP teams, civil contractors, consultants, OEMs and client representatives to resolve site-related technical issues.

Monitor workmanship, progress, material consumption and compliance with approved quality and safety standards.

Provide technical guidance to technicians, subcontractors and site teams; allocate work and verify completion.

Attend client and consultant inspections, close observations promptly and support final system demonstration and handover.

Diagnose system faults, undertake preventive and breakdown maintenance, and ensure minimum downtime.

Maintain accurate daily progress reports and escalate risks, delays, design deviations and material shortages in a timely manner.
