Job summary

Masters’ Union is seeking an Academic Programme Manager to own the Outclass experience for PGP in Applied AI & Agentic Systems. You will mentor student teams as they build real-world AI products and systems from scratch, guiding problem framing, architecture, and tooling choices.

You will also set technical bar for deliverables, work with Curriculum to ensure challenges are sound and sequenced, and track progress across cohorts while acting as a trusted AI data science resource for admissions,

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on software engineering experience building AI applications or systems for real world
• Genuine interest in mentoring and teaching
• Comfortable being hands-on in the build process with students
• 1–2 years of experience in academic programme management or teaching
• Experience in a fast-scaling education or EdTech environment
• Has shipped an AI product/system that saw real users

Responsibilities

• Owning and running the Outclass experience for PGP AIAS: guide student teams as they build real-world AI products, applications, and agentic systems from scratch
• Mentoring students hands-on through the build process: problem framing, technical architecture, tooling choices, debugging, and shipping
• Setting the technical bar for Outclass deliverables and evaluate student output against real-world product standards
• Working with the Curriculum team to ensure Outclass challenges are technically sound, relevant, and sequenced well against what's being taught
• Tracking Outclass progress and outcomes: what students are building, where they're stuck, and what needs to change in the next cohort
• Acting as the technical resource on Data Science and AI for Admissions, Growth, and Career Services when they need credible answers on programme depth or student capability

About the Role

We're looking for an Academic Programme Manager who will primarily own the Outclass experience for PGP in Applied AI & Agentic Systems, mentoring students hands-on as they build real-world AI products, applications, and systems during their Outclass challenges. This is a builder-turned-mentor role, not a coordination-only role.

Specifically, this role will involve

• Owning and running the Outclass experience for PGP AIAS: guide student teams as they build real-world AI products, applications, and agentic systems from scratch
• Mentoring students hands-on through the build process: problem framing, technical architecture, tooling choices, debugging, and shipping
• Setting the technical bar for Outclass deliverables and evaluate student output against real-world product standards
• Working with the Curriculum team to ensure Outclass challenges are technically sound, relevant, and sequenced well against what's being taught
• Tracking Outclass progress and outcomes: what students are building, where they're stuck, and what needs to change in the next cohort
• Acting as the technical resource on Data Science and AI for Admissions, Growth, and Career Services when they need credible answers on programme depth or student capability

Ideal candidate will have

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Data Science, AI, or Machine Learning from a top-tier institute
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience actually building AI applications, products, or systems for the real world, not academic projects or coursework
• Genuine interest in mentoring and teaching. Can explain technical concepts clearly and patiently to students who are still learning
• Comfortable being hands-on in the build process with students, not just reviewing final output
• 1 to 2 years of experience in academic programme management or teaching
• Experience in a fast-scaling education or EdTech environment
• Has shipped an AI product/system that saw real users, not just a prototype
