Job summary

SP Pipe Pvt Ltd in Tamil Nadu seeks a production supervisor to manage monthly order consolidation, material planning with ERP, time and method studies, manpower alignment, and capacity planning. The role includes daily shop floor meetings, ensuring SOP adherence, and guiding operators toward continual improvement.

Responsibilities cover autonomous maintenance coordination, safety audits, 5S, robust reporting, cost control, and daily MIS updates to management.

Responsibilities

• Review Monthly Order and consolidate
• Prepare Monthly Materials requirements with the support of ERP and communicate to all the concerned
• Conduct time study and method study and stabilize the process.
• Review Man Power availability against the monthly requirements. Discuss with Top Management in case of any discrepancies
• Review Machinery Planning and ensure sufficient capacity available
• Review weekly plan and assign job cards
• Ensure no issues for next 1 + 3 days including materials, man power or any other issues
• Conduct daily shop floor meeting and ensure operators and staff are communicated on the requirements
• Motivate all the operators and staff to come out with their suggestions for improvement.
• Educate operators and staff to follow the Production process as per work instructions / SOPs
• Ensure all the machines are loaded with necessary materials for process and operators are assigned for producing the product
• Provide necessary instructions to operators to get the set-up approval and in process inspection done during the process to ensure quality
• Direct operators on machinery management in doing the autonomous maintenance and ensure this is done on daily basis
• Coordinate with Maintenance department for continuous machinery operations
• Ensure necessary reports required are updated by Supervisors and Operators
• Calculate OEE on daily basis and take necessary corrective actions to improve the same
• Promote safe working conditions in the shop floor. Conduct safety audit periodically along with HR. Take necessary corrective actions to ensure safe workplace
• Maintain proper 5S in the shop floor. Ensure no material is kept without any identification in the shop floor
• Identify the various training needs and coordinate with HR department for continuous people upgrading
• Maintain proper accountability of accepted, rejected, reworked, and repaired product through job card and ensure reconciliation of every job card is done
• Ensure necessary packing of the product as per packing instructions only after approved by final / firewall QA
• Review all the production reports on daily basis and take necessary corrective actions accordingly
• Review the cost of production and cost of poor quality and focus on reducing the overall cost
• Focus on Production department Key Performance Indicators and take actions towards achieving the same
• Focus on continual improvement
• Update Management Information System on daily basis and send to top Management for review
• Update Production In charge checklist on daily basis
