Job summary

Morcom Induction Pvt Ltd is seeking a Production Supervisor for the shop floor/assembly line in Haryana. You will oversee line operations, manage operators, balance workload, and ensure quality and safety compliance on a daily basis.

The role requires hands-on supervision, line balancing, in-process quality checks, and active participation in Kaizen and 5S initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.

Qualifications

• ITI or diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Production.
• 2–5 years in assembly-line supervision; senior 5+ years.
• Exposure to induction cooktop/SMPS/power electronics preferred.
• Experience with ERP reporting and Kaizen/Lean is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production targets on the line and balance workload.
• Allocate manpower across stations and monitor takt time.

• Coordinate with stores, maintenance, QC and planning.

Role Snapshot

The Production Supervisor runs Morcom's induction-cooktop line day to day — meeting the daily production target while holding quality, safety and shop-floor discipline. The role combines hands-on supervision of operators with line balancing, in-process quality checks, manpower planning and accurate reporting, ensuring every cooktop that leaves the line meets Morcom's quality and BIS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Production & Line Management
  • Manpower allocation: Assign operators across assembly stations (PCB/PCBA, coil, IGBT / power-module, wiring, glass-top fitting, packing) to meet the daily schedule.
  • Output & balancing: Monitor cycle / takt time and line balancing; remove bottlenecks; track hourly / daily output and correct shortfalls.
  • Line feeding: Ensure components and sub-assemblies are ready at the line through kitting and store coordination against the BOM.
• Quality Assurance
  • In-process quality: Enforce station-wise checks, first-piece approval and SOP adherence; oversee functional / high-voltage (hi-pot) / load testing before clearance.
  • Workmanship & rework: Monitor soldering / assembly workmanship (IPC-A-610); control rejection and rework; run 5-Why / basic RCA and CAPA.
• Team Supervision & Development
  • People handling: Supervise, guide and motivate operators; manage attendance, shift hand-over and discipline.
  • Training: Run on-the-job training and maintain an operator skill matrix (multi-skilling); elevate manpower / performance issues to the Production Manager.
• 5S, Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Safety & 5S: Enforce electrical / ESD safety, PPE and 5S / housekeeping at every station.
  • Improvement: Drive Kaizen and lean initiatives to reduce waste, improve productivity and lower cost.
• Reporting & Coordination
  • Reporting: Maintain daily production, rejection, downtime and manpower reports (ERP / Odoo or registers).
  • Coordination: Work with stores, maintenance, QC and planning to keep the line running without interruption.

REQUIREMENTS

• Line & productivity: Line balancing, bottleneck removal and daily-target ownership.
• Quality: In-process quality, defect control, RCA and rejection / rework control.
• People leadership: Operator supervision, discipline, hand-over and multi-skilling.
• Lean & tools: 5S, Kaizen and basic QC tools.
• Systems: MS Office / ERP (Odoo a plus) for daily reporting.
• Communication: Fluent Hindi and basic English; clear, firm shop-floor instructions.
• Qualifications & Experience: ITI / Diploma (Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Production); B.E. / B.Tech a plus. 2-5 years in assembly-line supervision (Senior: 5+ years, including 2 years in a lead role). Induction cooktop / SMPS / power-electronics assembly exposure strongly preferred (transferable line experience accepted). Good To Have Auto-component / wiring-harness / home-appliance / EMS / fabrication line experience. Odoo / ERP reporting; basic Lean / Kaizen exposure.
