ROLE PURPOSE
Morcom Induction Private Limited — Production Manager (Manufacturing / Operations) Reports to: Director / Plant Head | Direct reports: shift / line supervisors, quality coordinators and operators (approx. 30–80 across lines & shifts) Location: 21, 22, Rathdhana Road, Harsana Kalan, Sonipat, Haryana – 131001 (on-site) Employment: Full-time, permanent | Days: Monday to Saturday | Hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM CTC: Commensurate with experience — discussed at offer stage Role purpose The Production Manager owns Morcom's shop floor — planning and delivering the daily and monthly production of induction cooktops on time, in full and to quality, while controlling cost, manpower and safety. The role converts the sales and dispatch plan into a balanced line and manpower schedule, keeps output and OEE high, holds rejection and rework down, builds a disciplined multi-skilled workforce, and drives continuous improvement. It is the single point of accountability that ensures the line runs, the numbers are hit, and every cooktop that ships meets Morcom's quality and BIS standards.
Key responsibilities
- 1. Production planning & output — Translate the sales / dispatch plan into a daily and weekly production schedule and manpower plan across lines and shifts. Deliver daily and monthly targets; track and improve OEE (Availability × Performance × Quality), cycle time, takt time and line balancing. Coordinate with Stores / Purchase against the BOM so the line is never starved. React to breakdowns, shortages and absenteeism to protect output.
- 2. Quality, rejection & process control — Enforce station-wise checks, first-piece approval and functional / hi-pot / load testing and IPC-A-610 workmanship before clearance. Drive down rejection / PPM and rework; run RCA (5-Why / fishbone / 7 QC tools) and CAPA. Maintain SOPs and process discipline; support BIS and customer audits.
- 3. Manpower, shift & people management — Lead, roster and appraise shift supervisors and operators; build a multi-skilled workforce (skill matrix). Drive on-the-job training, attendance and shop-floor discipline. Own shift planning, hand-over discipline and manpower productivity.
- 4. Cost, inventory & continuous improvement — Manage manpower, consumables, power and rework cost against budget. Drive Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke, SMED and lean initiatives. Control WIP and line‑side inventory with Stores.
- 5. Safety, 5S & compliance — Enforce electrical / ESD safety and PPE; target zero incidents. Maintain 5S and an audit‑ready floor. Support factory statutory and BIS compliance on the production side.
- 6. MIS, reporting & coordination — Produce daily and monthly production MIS (output vs plan, OEE, rejection / PPM, downtime, manpower, cost). Run production transactions through ERP (Odoo preferred). Partner with Stores / Purchase, Quality, Maintenance, Sales / Dispatch and HR.

First 90 days
- Day 1–30: Learn Morcom's products and the induction line (PCB / coil / IGBT / wiring / glass-top / testing / packing), current output, OEE, rejection and manpower; identify bottlenecks and risks.
- Day 31–60: Own the daily plan and shift governance — stabilise output, tighten in-process quality and 5S, start a clean daily / monthly MIS, launch the top improvement projects.
- Day 61–90: Run the floor independently to plan with improved OEE, controlled rejection and cost, a trained multi-skilled team and clean MIS; present a productivity & quality-improvement roadmap.
