Job summary

Rktransonic Engineers is seeking a Production Supervisor for the Sheet Metal & Fabrication shop floor to lead fabrication and assembly of Ultrasonic Cleaning Machines.

The ideal candidate will be a strong People Manager, capable of directing a team of Fitters, Welders (SS), Buffers, and Helpers, and will oversee end-to-end production, including SS 304L/316L sheet metal fabrication, SPM development, and mechanical assembly of handling systems.

Qualifications

• Must have deep technical knowledge of SS 304L/316L properties and welding considerations.
• Experience managing 20+ labourers on the shop floor.
• CAD knowledge is an advantage for reading/modifying drawings (AutoCAD/SolidWorks).
• Ability to coordinate with Purchase/Design for material and drawing clarifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct shop floor management to ensure on-time production of SS Tanks and assemblies.
• Plan BOMs and coordinate with stores/purchase for timely material availability.
• Oversee sheet metal fabrication (SS 304L/316L) including cutting, bending and welding with high precision.
• Lead development of SPMs to improve assembly line efficiency and manage complex sub-systems.
• Ensure safety compliance and lean manufacturing practices on the floor.

• PG Diploma (Mechanical/Production) with 12+ years of experience.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced Shop Floor Production Supervisor to lead our fabrication and assembly division. The ideal candidate is a strong "People Manager" who can extract high-quality work from a team of Fitters, Welders (SS), Buffers, and Helpers. You will be responsible for the end-to-end production of Ultrasonic Cleaning Machines, specifically focusing on SS 304L & SS 316L Sheet Metal Fabrication, SPM development, and mechanical assembly of handling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shop Floor Management & Execution (Primary)
   1. Get the work done: Directly supervise daily activities of Labours (Fitters, Welders, SS Buffers, Helpers) to ensure production targets are met.
   2. Work Allocation: Assign specific tasks to different workers based on skill matrix (cutting, bending, welding, buffing, fitting).
   3. Manpower Management: Address labour shortages proactively; manage attendance, shift scheduling, and cross-training to ensure no downtime due to manpower gaps.
   4. BOM & Material Planning: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) for jobs and coordinate with the store/purchase team to arrange relevant materials on time before the job begins.

1. 2. Technical & Fabrication Core
   1. Sheet Metal Fabrication: Oversee cutting, bending, and welding of SS 304L & SS 316L sheets with high precision (critical for chemical/ultrasonic environment).
2. SPM Machines: Lead the development and modification of Special Purpose Machines (SPM) to improve assembly line efficiency.
3. Assembly Integration: Manage the assembly of complex sub-systems including:
   • Handling Systems
   • Pneumatic circuits & components
   • Heaters, Filters, and Sensors
   • Walking Beam mechanisms
   • Conveyor Overhead Transport arrangements
   • Stainless Steel (SS) Tanks.

1. 3. Process Improvement & Quality
   1. Problem Solving: Immediately address fitment issues, welding defects, and material shortages using a root-cause analysis approach.
   2. Lean Manufacturing: Implement Poka-Yoke (error proofing) and Kaizen (continuous improvement) on the shop floor to reduce scrap and rework.
   3. New Development: Assist in New Product Development (NPD) by providing practical fabrication feedback; participate in New Vendor Development (especially for SS sheet cutting/bending vendors).

1. 4. Safety & Compliance
   1. Safety Enforcement: Ensuring 100% compliance with shop floor safety protocols (PPE for welders, fume extraction for SS welding, buffer machine guarding, fire safety).

Required Skills & Competencies (The "Must-Haves")

• Deep Technical Knowledge: Expert level understanding of SS 304L and SS 316L properties (warpage control during welding, heat input control, passivation).
• Man Management: Proven ability to handle 20+ labourers (specifically welders and fitters). You do not just inspect; you lead from the front.
• CAD Knowledge (Advantage): Knowhow of CAD software (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) to read complex drawings and suggest modifications.
• Vendor & Cross-functional Coordination: Ability to talk to Purchase dept for raw material and Design dept for drawing clarifications.
• Must be Excellent in reading and comprehending Mechanical Drawing

• Reduction in welding rework % for SS 316L.
• Manpower utilization rate (Zero idle time due to labour shortage).
