Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead the mechanical assembly team for SPMs and automation equipment.
- Plan, allocate, and monitor daily assembly activities to meet production schedules.
- Ensure adherence to assembly drawings, mechanical fitting standards, and tolerances.
- Coordinate with design, machining, and electrical teams for smooth assembly and integration.
- Conduct quality checks and ensure machines meet functional and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during assembly and trials.
- Train and mentor technicians/workers on assembly practices and safety procedures.
- Maintain documentation of assembly processes, test reports, and rework records.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in assembly methods and productivity.
- Ensure workplace discipline, 5S, and adherence to safety norms.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, hydraulics, pneumatics, and precision fitting.
- Hands‑on experience with tools, instruments, and alignment methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills.
- Team leadership and manpower management skills.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing / Kaizen practices is an added advantage.
