Job summary

Microcon Machine Tech is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). You will oversee design realization, fabrication, precision assembly, and commissioning of bespoke automated machinery.

You will establish schedules, lead a team of mechanical assemblers and supervisors, ensure strict GD&T compliance, and manage procurement to control costs while meeting client delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical assembly and automation logic.
• Experience reading complex 2D/3D engineering blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Manage SPM manufacturing projects from concept through shop-floor assembly and client commissioning.
• Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet delivery deadlines.
• Supervise mechanical assemblers, fitters and production supervisors to maximise machine utilization and minimise downtime.
• Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T, and precision alignment tolerances.
• Oversee procurement of critical hardware, pneumatic/hydraulic components, and fabricated parts while monitoring costs.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage SPM manufacturing projects from the initial concept and design phase through final shop-floor assembly and client commissioning.
• Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to ensure custom machine builds stay on track and meet client delivery deadlines
• Supervise mechanical assemblers, fitters and production supervisors to maximize machine utilization and minimize downtime
• Ensure strict compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and precision alignment tolerances (using dial indicators and precision gauges)
• Oversee procurement of critical hardware, pneumatic/hydraulic components, and fabricated parts while monitoring cost-effectiveness.
