Job summary

SV Management Consultants seeks an experienced Press Shop Manager to lead end-to-end press shop operations in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. You will drive production efficiency, quality, safety, productivity and cost optimization.

You will supervise press machines, dies, tooling, line setup and ensure OEE improvement, cycle-time reduction and adherence to safety and quality standards. Strong leadership and cross-functional coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• 9+ years of experience in Press Shop, Sheet Metal or automotive component manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of press machines, dies, tooling and production processes.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Press Shop Manager to lead end-to-end press shop operations in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for driving production efficiency, quality, safety, productivity and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete Press Shop production and operations, ensuring achievement of production, quality and delivery targets.
• Manage mechanical/hydraulic presses, press lines, dies, tooling, fixtures and line setup.
• Drive OEE improvement, productivity enhancement, cycle-time reduction and capacity utilization.
• Control scrap, rejection, rework and process losses through effective RCA and corrective actions.
• Ensure die maintenance, tool life management, machine availability and preventive maintenance coordination.
• Manage manpower planning, shift operations, productivity and team development.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, EHS and standard operating procedures.
• Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, PPC, Production Planning and Stores for smooth operations.
• Support new product development, process trials, die trials, line commissioning and productivity improvement projects.
• Monitor daily production KPIs and drive timely corrective actions to achieve business targets.

Candidate Profile

• BE / B.Tech Mechanical / Production Engineering.
• 9+ years of experience in Press Shop, Sheet Metal or Automotive Component Manufacturing.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of press machines, dies sheet-metal stamping/forming, tooling and production processes.
• Experience in high-volume automotive / auto-component manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of OEE, productivity, rejection control, scrap reduction, RCA, Lean and continuous improvement.
• Experience in managing large teams and multi-shift press shop operations.
• Good knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan and quality systems will be an advantage.
• Candidates with experience in automotive sheet-metal components, stamping and progressive/compound dies will be preferred.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving and cross-functional coordination skills.
