Job summary

Ciel HR in India is seeking a Production Engineer for the Press Shop to manage daily production activities, oversee press operations, and drive quality and safety standards on the shop floor.

The role requires coordinating with Quality, Maintenance, and PPC teams, monitoring OEE, downtime, and process parameters, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities in the Press Shop to achieve production and quality targets.
• Operate and monitor power presses, mechanical presses, hydraulic presses, and related equipment.
• Ensure proper setup, tooling, die changeover and process parameters.
• Monitor production output, rejection, rework and downtime.
• Identify and resolve production-related issues to minimize machine downtime.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room and PPC teams for smooth production.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions and process standards.
• Maintain production records, shift reports and MIS.
• Monitor OEE, productivity, rejection and cycle time and take corrective actions.
• Ensure proper handling and availability of raw materials, dies, tools and consumables.
• Implement 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and safe operating practices within the press shop.
• Support new product development, process improvement and trial activities.
