Job summary

Patil Group in India seeks a Head of Production to lead the complete manufacturing function for automotive components, ensuring safe, cost-effective, on-time delivery with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity and People.

The role requires BE or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering with 5–20 years (BE) or 20–22 years (Diploma) experience in Forging/Automotive Tier 1, and a strong background in Lean, TPM, 5S, Kaizen and problem-solving methodologies.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical/ Production Engineering is required.
• Experience in automotive forging/Tier 1 environment is preferred.
• Proven track record in productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead production planning and execution to meet daily, weekly, monthly targets.
• Ensure QMS; reduce internal rejection and rework while applying corrective actions.
• Drive OEE improvement, machine utilization, and capacity enhancements.
• Manage manpower deployment and develop multi-skilled operators.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for maximum machine availability and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with PPC, Stores and Purchase to prevent material shortages and ensure traceability.
• Control manufacturing conversion costs and ensure safety compliance.

Job description

Job Purpose:

To lead the complete production function and ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective and timely manufacturing of automotive components as per customer requirements, while achieving targets for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity and People .

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Execution:

• Achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Execute production as per PPC plan and customer schedules.
• Monitor line-wise and process-wise production performance.

Quality Management

• Ensure production of components as per customer drawings, specifications and control plans.
• Reduce internal rejection, customer complaints and rework.
• Ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Productivity & OEE

• Improve machine and line productivity.
• Monitor and improve: OEE/ Machine Utilization/ Manpower productivity
• dentify bottlenecks and implement capacity improvement projects.

Manpower Management

• Ensure optimum deployment of operators and skilled manpower.
• Develop multi-skilled operators.
• Monitor absenteeism and manpower productivity

Machine & Maintenance Coordination

• Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure maximum machine availability.
• Monitor machine breakdown and downtime
• Ensure implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance

Material & Inventory Coordination

• Coordinate with PPC, Stores and Purchase for material availability
• Prevent production stoppage due to material shortages
• Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials and components

Cost Reduction

• Control manufacturing conversion cost.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure zero-accident workplace.
• Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
