Job summary

Berger Paints is seeking a Production Supervisor to plan, coordinate and monitor daily production activities in our UP plant. You will drive targets while upholding quality, safety, and GMP standards, coordinating with Quality, Maintenance and Planning teams to ensure smooth plant operations.

You will supervise operators, push for process improvements, uphold 5S housekeeping, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while preparing MIS reports and batch records.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/production environments.
• Understanding of production planning, process control, batch manufacturing and shop-floor operations.
• Knowledge of SOPs, 5S, safety practices, quality systems and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor daily production activities as per schedules.
• Achieve production targets while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
• Monitor processes, batch operations, material usage and process parameters.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores and Production Planning teams for smooth operations.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, materials, machinery and resources.
• Track production losses, wastage and deviations; take corrective actions.
• Maintain production records, MIS reports, batch records and docs.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP, safety standards and operating guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity gain and cost reduction.
• Supervise and guide operators; ensure effective manpower deployment.
• Support troubleshooting with Maintenance and Quality teams.
• Maintain 5S in the production area; participate in audits and CAPA.

• Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining quality and productivity standards.
• Monitor production processes, batch operations, material consumption, and process parameters.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Production Planning teams for smooth plant operations.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, raw materials, machinery, and other resources.
• Monitor production losses, wastage, rejections, and process deviations and take corrective actions.
• Maintain production records, MIS reports, batch records, and other manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, GMP/quality procedures, safety standards, and plant operating guidelines.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction.
• Supervise and guide production operators/workers and ensure effective manpower deployment.
• Support troubleshooting of production/process-related issues in coordination with Maintenance and Quality teams.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and implementation of 5S within the production area.
• Participate in audits, investigations, root-cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable EHS and statutory safety requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience in manufacturing/production operations.
• Good understanding of production planning, process control, batch manufacturing, and shop-floor operations.
• Knowledge of SOPs, 5S, safety practices, quality systems, and production documentation.
• Strong manpower handling and team coordination skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and production MIS/reporting.
