Job summary

Caterpillar Signs in India is seeking a Production Merchandiser (Textile/Product) to oversee end-to-end merchandising for assigned buyer accounts. The role demands textile knowledge, product construction, and strong negotiation for profitability, sampling, and timelines.

You will manage order flow, create the T&A calendar, coordinate with multiple departments, source fabrics and trims, and ensure compliance with quality and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or Product Merchandising.
• 3–5 years of experience in textile or product manufacturing/exports with independent accounts.
• Knowledge of production planning, material planning, manufacturing techniques and costing.

Responsibilities

• Receive inquiries, develop products per buyer requirements and secure orders.
• Create and maintain the Time & Action (T&A) calendar from sampling to shipment.
• Serve as the main liaison between Sales and PPC teams.
• Source fabrics and trims and coordinate with knitting, dyeing, printing, and sewing.
• Monitor material status and production to meet quality standards.
• Ensure proper documentation including PI, packing lists, and shipping docs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and buyer quality standards.

Job Title: Production Merchandiser (Textile/Product)

Senior Merchandiser will oversee end‑to‑end merchandising process for assigned buyer accounts. This role requires technical knowledge of textiles, product construction, and production, combined with strong negotiation skills to manage order profitability, sampling, and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Order Management & Coordination: Receive inquiries, develop products according to buyer requirements, and secure order confirmations.
• Create and maintain the Time & Action (T&A) calendar to track production from sampling to shipment.
• Act as the primary point of contact between Sales and PPC teams.
• Sourcing & Production Follow‑up: Source and book fabric and accessories (trims) in compliance with buyer specifications.
• Coordinate with knitting, dyeing, printing, and sewing departments to resolve production bottlenecks.
• Monitor in‑house raw material status and production, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Documentation & Compliance: Manage documentation including PI, packing lists, and shipping documents.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and buyer quality standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelors degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or Product Merchandising.
• Experience: 3‑5 years of experience in textile or Product manufacturing/exports, with a proven track record of handling independent accounts.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of Production planning, material planning, manufacturing techniques, and costing processes.
• Tools: Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel for costing/spreadsheets and ERP systems/Tally.
