Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize production activities to ensure smooth flow per business plan and as directed by Head Production.
  • Manage resources: manpower, machinery, materials, and finances.
  • Monitor production progress to ensure on-schedule completion and make adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure production processes meet company quality standards through regular inspections and tests.
  • Enforce safety policies to minimize accidents and protect workers and the environment.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to prevent production stoppages.
  • Control production costs to ensure cost-efficient and profitable operations.
  • Lead and train the production team, including hiring and performance appraisals.
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales to align production with company goals.
  • Continuously seek process improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity.

Job description

Role & responsibilities
  • Responsible for planning and organizing the production activities to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of production as per business plan and as directed by Head Production.
  • Responsible for managing the resources required for a production such as manpower, machinery, materials, and finances.
  • Monitor the production progress to ensure that the production is on schedule and to make any necessary adjustments to ensure the timely completion of the project.
  • Ensure that the production process is meeting the quality standards set by the company. This involves conducting regular inspections and tests to ensure that the products meet the required standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the production processes are safe for the workers and the environment. They must enforce safety policies and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Responsible to Manage the inventory levels of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods to ensure that the production process is not interrupted by a shortage of materials.
  • Managing the production costs to ensure that the production is cost-effective and profitable for the company. This includes managing labour costs, materials costs, and equipment costs.
  • Responsible for managing the production team, including the hiring and training of new employees, and the performance appraisal of existing employees.
  • Work closely with other departments such as engineering, purchasing, and sales to ensure that the production process is in line with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Constantly look for ways to improve the production process ,reduce costs, and increase efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field
Experience
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in production management in an engineering manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality management systems
  • Proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Knowledge of production processes and procedures, including welding, assembly, and testing
