Role Description

The Production Manager role at Precision Auto Fasteners is a part-time, on-site position based in Ludhiana. The Production Manager will oversee daily production activities, including planning workflows, allocating resources, and monitoring output to meet quality and delivery targets. This role involves coordinating with shop-floor teams, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure smooth operations, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with ISO requirements. The Production Manager will track key production metrics, identify process improvements, and support implementation of lean practices to reduce waste and optimize efficiency. Additional responsibilities include managing documentation, supporting audits, and collaborating with management on capacity planning and equipment utilization.

Qualifications

• Experience in production management, preferably in manufacturing or automotive components, with strong knowledge of forging or metalworking processes.
• Skills in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, with the ability to manage multiple lines or work centers effectively.
• Understanding of quality management systems, including ISO 9001:2015, basic SPC, and standard inspection procedures.
• Competence in data analysis, reporting, and use of basic ERP or production tracking tools to monitor output, downtime, and efficiency.
• Strong leadership, team coordination, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to coach and motivate shop-floor teams.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, 5S, and continuous improvement or lean manufacturing methods.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, quality, and procurement.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; relevant experience in fastener manufacturing is an advantage.
