Job summary

A manufacturing firm in India is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day production and assembly activities, ensure timely execution of plans, monitor schedules, and guide manpower and resources on the shop floor.

You will coordinate with Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality and other departments, ensure compliance with drawings and standards, drive continuous improvement initiatives like 5S and Kaizen, and maintain daily MIS reports.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day production and assembly activities to ensure smooth and timely execution of production plans
• Monitoring production schedules, work progress, and ensuring timely completion of assigned jobs
• Maintaining accountability and proper utilization of raw materials, components, consumables, and other production resources
• Providing day-to-day guidance and support for effective manpower and resource management
• Allocating manpower and resources based on production priorities and workload
• Identifying bottlenecks in assembly and production processes and taking corrective actions
• Reducing and minimizing assembly time through process improvements, better planning, and efficient utilization of resources
• Improving overall production efficiency, productivity, and equipment/manpower utilization
• Coordinating with Design, Purchase, Stores, Quality, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production activities
• Ensuring production activities are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards
• Monitoring product quality during various stages of manufacturing and assembly and taking corrective action for deviations
• Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety procedures, statutory requirements, and environmental guidelines
• Promoting safe working practices and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe production environment
• Monitoring daily production output, rejection/rework, productivity, material consumption, and other key production parameters
• Preparing and maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly Production MIS reports and other management reports
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, waste minimization, and process optimization
• Supporting implementation of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and other productivity improvement initiatives
• Maintaining proper production records, work completion reports, and relevant documentation
• Supervising shop-floor activities and ensuring discipline, productivity, and adherence to defined processes
