Polycab India Limited in Vadodara invites a production-focused professional to oversee end-to-end manufacturing processes, from drawing to final output, ensuring quality per datasheets and safety on the shop floor.

The role emphasizes 5S, on-time delivery, material readiness, and continuous improvement through Kaizen, RCA and FMEA, with strong collaboration across maintenance, quality, safety and procurement teams.

Responsibilities

• To handle after the complete manufacturing processes as per SOP’s defined from initial process to the final output. ( Drawing/ stranding /bunching/ Insulation /Inner Sheathing/Armoring/ Outer sheathing /Rewinding /Curing etc . )
• Need to ensure quality output as per the product technical datasheet/ Design sheet as guided by the specification standards.
• To maintain and enforce safe workplace environment and conditions. Focus on the safety of all the colleagues and subordinates.
• Maintain a clean and tidy shop floor by implementing 5S practices.
• Adherence/ Implementation of the production plan for on time delivery to the customer.
• Arrange all the materials, tools and equipment for the smooth production process in a systematic manner.
• Train people within hi s workgroup after Identify ing the skill gaps in the workforce as per their work responsibilities.
• Need to maintain the machines / equipment in very good working conditions.
• Control the waste generation ( Scrap )in the process as per target limits defined by the management and improve further.
• Working on continual improvement is his field of responsibility. Suggest poka-yoke to avoid repetitive errors by with upgradation or low cost automation on the machines wherever possible .
• Ensure the consistency ( reproducibility & repeatability of the product)to avoid any variation in the finished product via standardization of the SOP and work instructions.
• Update all the statistical and production reports in the defined formats/digital system.
• Record all the downtimes of the machine s and analyze the data to improve the resource utilization .
• Focus on reducing breakdowns by providing detailed feedback to maintenance team before the planned PM (Preventive maintenance ) .Also while taking the machine back from maintenance shall check that all the concerns reported are sorted out for better efficiency.
• Perform the RCA ,FMEA ( individually or with technical team ) for error proofing.
• Work on customer feed back like feedbacks from planning , quality department for product quality and delivery enhancement.
• Provide proper and timely feedback to the supplier like RM stores or purchase dept regarding any shortcoming s in quality or quantity of the raw material.
• Liese with the support departments of maintenance,quality ,purchase,safety,Dispatch . Lead Kaizen Activities
• Work continuously on the cost saving options/ possibilities . (like output in kms or tonnage/ man hour , energy utilization per kg or tons , scrap reduction gradually, rework minimization etc )
• Prepare any additional records/data required by the reporting manager as and when required .
• Take part in the audits and work on the observations given by the auditors.
