Job summary

Raj Process Equipments And System is seeking a Production Engineer (Water Tube Boiler) with 5–9 years of experience in Maharashtra. You will lead manufacturing and fabrication of water tube boilers and pressure parts, plan resources, supervise welding, hydro testing, and ensure compliance with ASME/IBR and safety standards.

Role requires strong hands-on shop-floor leadership, expertise in welding processes, drawings interpretation, and ERP/MRP proficiency.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in water tube boiler manufacturing and fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of boiler pressure parts and manufacturing sequence.
• Proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW/FCAW welding processes.
• WPS/PQR knowledge and welder qualification requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and BOMs.
• Experience with ASME Section I and IBR requirements.
• Knowledge of NDT methods and inspection procedures.
• Experience in hydro testing and final inspection of boiler parts.
• Strong production planning and shop-floor management skills.
• Proficient with MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise production activities for water tube boilers and pressure parts.
• Coordinate fabrication of boiler drums, headers, water walls, tubes and related components.
• Study drawings, BOMs, welding drawings, and specifications.
• Allocate manpower, materials, machines, and fabrication resources.
• Supervise cutting, bending, fit-up, welding, assembly, alignment, hydro testing, finishing.
• Ensure tube-to-header/drum fit-up, alignment and weld quality.
• Coordinate with Design, Planning, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Welding, NDT, and Maintenance.
• Monitor daily progress and take corrective action for delays and bottlenecks.
• Ensure welding per approved WPS/PQR and procedures; coordinate NDT activities.
• Maintain material traceability and manage welding consumables and PWHT where required.
• Prepare production reports and manufacturing documentation; ensure EHS compliance.

Job Purpose

To lead and supervise the manufacturing and fabrication of water tube boilers and pressure parts, ensuring production targets, quality requirements, safety standards, and delivery schedules are achieved as per approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise production activities for water tube boilers and pressure parts.
• Manage fabrication and assembly of boiler drums, headers, water walls, steam/water tubes, coils, super heaters, economizers, piping, ducts, structures, and other boiler components.
• Study and interpret fabrication drawings, GA drawings, BOMs, welding drawings, and technical specifications.
• Plan manpower, materials, machines, and fabrication resources to achieve production targets.
• Supervise cutting, bending, fit-up, welding, assembly, alignment, hydro testing, and finishing activities.
• Ensure proper tube bending, tube-to-header/drum fit-up, alignment, dimensional accuracy, and weld quality.
• Coordinate with Design, Planning, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Welding, NDT, and Maintenance teams.
• Monitor daily production progress and take corrective action against delays and bottlenecks.
• Ensure welding is carried out as per approved WPS/PQR and applicable welding procedures.
• Coordinate with QC/NDT teams for VT, DPT, MPT, UT, RT, dimensional inspection, and hydro testing, wherever applicable.
• Ensure proper material identification and traceability of boiler pressure-part materials.
• Monitor welding consumable control, preheating/interpass temperature, PWHT requirements, and heat treatment activities where applicable.
• Control fabrication rework, welding defects, material wastage, and production losses.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and external fabrication agencies when required.
• Prepare and maintain production reports, inspection records, and manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable ASME / IBR / statutory and customer-specific requirements.
• Implement 5S, productivity improvement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure strict compliance with EHS, PPE, housekeeping, and safe working practices.

Technical Skills Required

• Strong hands-on experience in water tube boiler manufacturing/fabrication.
• Good knowledge of boiler pressure parts and their manufacturing sequence.
• Strong understanding of SMAW, GTAW, GMAW/FCAW welding processes.
• Knowledge of WPS, PQR, welder qualification, welding consumables, and welding defects.
• Good knowledge of tube bending, fit-up, welding, alignment, and dimensional control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/fabrication drawings.
• Working knowledge of ASME Section I and IBR requirements.
• Knowledge of NDT methods and inspection procedures.
• Experience in hydro testing and final inspection of boiler pressure parts.
• Good knowledge of production planning, manpower allocation, and shop-floor management.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP systems.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5–9 years of relevant experience in water tube boiler manufacturing/fabrication.
• Experience in industrial boilers, utility boilers, HRSGs, pressure parts, or heavy engineering fabrication will be an advantage.
• Strong shop-floor management and team-handling skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and production-related problems independently.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Willingness to work in a production/shop-floor environment.
