Job summary

Trident Polymers in Pune, India, seeks a Production Engineer to plan, monitor, and improve rubber molding production to meet targets while upholding quality and safety.

The role emphasizes maximizing OEE, reducing rejects, and driving continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning PPC planning, machine utilization, and adherence to IATF 16949.

You will collaborate across Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Stores, document production records, and support audits.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Automotive Rubber Compression Molding Process.
  • Good understanding of IATF 16949:2016.
  • OEE calculation, monitoring, and improvement.
  • Knowledge of compression molding concepts.
  • Production planning and process control.
  • Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen.
  • APQP and PPAP knowledge.
  • Production documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute daily production activities as per PPC plan.
  • Monitor daily production activities and ensure achievement of production targets.
  • Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by reducing downtime, cycle time, and losses.
  • PPC
  • Ensure production is carried out as per Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Process Parameters.
  • Monitor machine utilization, manpower productivity, and production efficiency.
  • Analyze production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Stores for smooth production.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and company procedures.
  • Full responsibility to ensure production KPI achievement such as plan vs actual, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, Pareto, rejection PPM.
  • Daily updation of the production records on immediate basis
  • Support internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Maintain production records, OEE reports, rejection reports, and daily MIS.
  • Daily shift planning and Ensure 4M availability - Man, Machine, Material and required method availability
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Train new and old operators on rejection types, tool operations and quality requirements so they are onboarded with less time
  • Drive reduction in scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
  • Daily shop floor meetings with molders and with the inputs from quality
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, and safety standards
  • Monitor cycle time, productivity, rejection, and downtime
  • Coordinate with Mixing, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Quality departments
  • Preparation of the process card and quality rejection instruction for each new part
  • Ensure proper machine setting, parameter control, and mold changeover
  • Maintain production records, MIS reports, and shift logs
  • Ensure 4M availability - Man, Machine, Material and required method availability
