Responsibilities

• Maintain production records and shift-wise MIS.
• Allocate manpower across processes and supervise shop-floor staff.
• Coordinate with HR for manpower requirements and attendance.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and process parameters.
• Enforce safety rules, PPE use, and incident reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement via Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Stores, PPC, HR, and EHS for smooth operations.

Job Purpose

To ensure safe, efficient, and quality-focused production by managing shop-floor operations, manpower, machines, materials, and processes while achieving production targets and maintaining compliance with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Plan and execute daily production activities as per production targets and schedules.
• Monitor production output, productivity, downtime, and process efficiency.
• Ensure optimum utilisation of manpower, machines, and materials.
• Identify and resolve production-related issues to minimise downtime and losses.
• Maintain production records, reports, and shift-wise MIS.

Manpower Management

• Allocate manpower across production processes and workstations.
• Monitor attendance, deployment, productivity, and discipline of shop-floor employees.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and ensure employees are competent for assigned operations.
• Coordinate with HR for manpower requirements, absenteeism, and employee-related issues.

Quality Management

• Ensure adherence to defined process parameters, SOPs, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Quality for rejection, rework, customer complaints, and process deviations.
• Identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure strict compliance with safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe operating procedures.
• Conduct regular shop-floor safety observations and take corrective actions.
• Report and support investigation of unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and company requirements.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for productivity improvement, cost reduction, waste elimination, and process optimisation.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, and other improvement initiatives.
• Analyse production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Maintenance & Equipment

• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Monitor machine/equipment availability and minimise breakdown-related production losses.
• Ensure proper operation and basic care of production equipment.

Coordination

• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, PPC, HR, EHS, and other functions for smooth production operations.
• Ensure effective shift handover and communication of production issues.
• Support trials, new product/process introduction, and process improvements.
