Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand technical, engineering and architectural drawings.
  • Create, modify and prepare drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Convert customer or project requirements into production-ready drawings.
  • Check dimensions and product feasibility before manufacturing.
  • Modify drawings based on customer, site or production requirements.
  • Prepare accurate drawings required for CNC production.
  • Prepare CNC router programs based on approved drawings.
  • Generate appropriate tool paths for CNC routing.
  • Set up and operate the CNC router.
  • Select suitable tools and cutting parameters.
  • Ensure correct material positioning and machine setup.
  • Monitor CNC operations and ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot basic programming and machine-operation issues.
  • Optimise cutting layouts to minimise material wastage.
  • Follow appropriate CNC and factory safety practices.
  • Plan daily and weekly production based on confirmed orders.
  • Convert customer orders into production schedules.
  • Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications and timelines.
  • Coordinate production activities on the factory floor.
  • Monitor work-in-progress and identify production delays or bottlenecks.
  • Ensure production targets and dispatch commitments are met.
  • Maintain appropriate production records.
  • Review customer enquiries received from the Sales team.
  • Understand dimensions and technical requirements.
  • Check manufacturing feasibility before quotation.
  • Support the Sales team with technical inputs.
  • Independently prepare quotations using established company pricing.
  • Clarify technical requirements with Sales where necessary.
  • Highlight any technical limitations or required modifications before order confirmation.
  • Estimate raw material requirements based on confirmed and upcoming production.
  • Monitor stock levels of raw materials and production consumables.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Identify material requirements before production.
  • Ensure materials are available to avoid production delays.
  • Maintain accurate inward and outward material records.
  • Monitor material consumption and wastage.
  • Raise material requirements and coordinate procurement.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors.
  • Follow up on purchase orders and material delivery.

About the Role

D Ellinas Factory Products India Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a hands-on Production & CNC Engineer to manage day-to-day manufacturing activities at our factory in Kundrathur, Chennai.


This is a practical engineering role involving AutoCAD drawings, CNC router programming and operation, production planning, material management, quotation support, procurement, quality control, dispatch and logistics coordination.


We are looking for someone early in their career who has strong technical fundamentals, is willing to learn, and is ready to take ownership of production activities.


The ideal candidate should be comfortable working both on the factory floor and on engineering/commercial tasks such as drawings, quotations and material planning.


Key Responsibilities

CAD & Technical Drawings

  • Read and understand technical, engineering and architectural drawings.
  • Create, modify and prepare drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Convert customer or project requirements into production-ready drawings.
  • Check dimensions and product feasibility before manufacturing.
  • Modify drawings based on customer, site or production requirements.
  • Prepare accurate drawings required for CNC production.

  • Maintain basic supplier and procurement documentation.

Quality Control
  • Inspect manufactured products against approved drawings and specifications.
  • Verify dimensions, finish and overall product quality.
  • Identify production errors before dispatch.
  • Coordinate corrective action where required.
  • Minimise rejection, rework and material wastage.
  • Ensure only approved products are released for dispatch.

Dispatch & Logistics
  • Coordinate packing and preparation of finished orders.
  • Plan dispatch based on customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with transporters and logistics providers.
  • Arrange customer-site deliveries.
  • Communicate dispatch schedules internally.
  • Track shipments and deliveries until completion.
  • Coordinate with Sales and customers regarding delivery status.
  • Ensure correct products and quantities are dispatched.

Candidate Requirements

Mandatory

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Ability to create and modify CAD drawings independently.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Understanding of CNC machines.
  • Willingness and ability to program and operate a CNC router.
  • Comfortable working directly on a factory floor.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
  • Good problem-solving ability.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and standard office applications.
  • Willingness to learn new products and manufacturing processes.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally if required.
