Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and sales projections.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and other essentials.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Work with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure purchased goods meet company standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with QA for periodic audits of vendor-supplied goods.
  • Maintain records of purchases, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and finance for procurement planning.
  • Address and resolve supply chain disruptions promptly.

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other essentials required for production and operations. The role demands strong negotiation skills, vendor management, and a deep understanding of the food supply chain to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Strategy & Planning:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals.
    • Forecast material requirements based on production schedules and sales projections.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and other essentials.
    • Maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality compliance.
    • Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations.
  • Negotiation & Cost Control:
    • Negotiate contracts, prices, and payment terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value.
    • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Inventory & Quality Control:
    • Work with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
    • Ensure purchased goods meet company standards for quality, safety, and compliance.
    • Coordinate with the QA team for periodic audits of vendor-supplied goods.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, FSSAI standards, and company policies.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:
    • Collaborate with the production, R&D, and finance teams for effective procurement planning.
    • Address and resolve any supply chain disruptions promptly.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Food Technology, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry.
  • Proven track record of vendor negotiations and cost optimization.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
