The Wellness Shop is seeking a Procurement Manager/Executive to manage international sourcing, including China imports and finished goods procurement for personal care products.

You will lead supplier onboarding, negotiate terms, and oversee import cycles, ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency in a fast-growing wellness brand.

Qualifications

• BTech or MBA in Supply Chain/Operations.
• 3–5 years procurement experience in Personal Care/Wellness/Beauty.
• Mandatory: hands-on experience importing from China.
• Executive or Manager level, level decided by experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and onboard suppliers from China for finished goods and packaging.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and certifications with Chinese manufacturers.
• Manage import cycle: POs, Incoterms, payments, inspection, freight, customs.
• Handle HS codes, landed cost optimization, regulatory compliance.
• Oversee contract manufacturers and third-party vendors for finished goods.
• Lead cost benchmarking and supplier negotiations to protect margins, ensure delivery.
• Maintain inventory, POs, contracts, invoices, import documents, supplier records.
• Coordinate with R&D/Production on BOMs and planning, ensure uninterrupted material supply.
• Mentor junior procurement staff; drive vendor strategy and cross-functional coordination.

The Wellness Shop is a growing name in the wellness and beauty industry, committed to delivering premium quality products with a focus on natural, herbal, and ayurvedic ingredients. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive procurement professional (Executive or Manager level, based on experience) with strong exposure to the personal care and wellness sector and proven experience in importing from China.

Key Responsibilities

International Sourcing and China Imports

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers from China for finished products, packaging materials, and components.
• Coordinate directly with Chinese manufacturers on pricing, samples, specifications, certifications, and lead times.
• Manage the complete import cycle, including purchase orders, Incoterms, payment terms, pre-shipment quality inspection, freight coordination, and customs clearance.
• Handle HS code classification, duty calculation, and landed cost optimisation.
• Ensure imported products comply with Indian regulatory requirements, including CDSCO and labelling norms, where applicable.

Finished Goods Procurement (Third-Party / Private Label)

• Identify and onboard contract manufacturers and third-party vendors for finished personal care, herbal, and wellness products, ensuring capability, certification, and compliance standards.
• Lead cost benchmarking, commercial negotiations, and supply agreements while ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.

Raw Material Procurement (Manufacturing Support)

• Handle end-to-end procurement of raw materials, actives, herbal extracts, and packaging for finished goods production.
• Coordinate with R&D and Production on BOMs and planning requirements.
• Ensure uninterrupted material supply to avoid production delays.
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Ensure materials meet quality standards and specifications.

Vendor Management and Cost Control

• Develop and maintain a reliable domestic and international vendor base.
• Conduct vendor performance evaluations on cost, quality, and timelines.
• Track raw material price trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate effectively to improve margins without compromising quality.

Inventory and Documentation Management

• Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
• Maintain purchase orders, contracts, invoices, import documents, and supplier records.
• Prepare procurement MIS reports covering spend analysis, cost comparison, and savings achieved.
• Work with Finance on payment tracking, foreign remittances, and reconciliation.

Note: At the Manager level, this role additionally includes greater ownership of vendor strategy, cross-functional coordination, and mentoring of junior procurement staff.

Candidate Requirements

• BTech or full-time MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience within the Personal Care, Wellness, Skincare, Beauty, or Herbal/Ayurvedic products industry.
• Mandatory: Hands-on experience importing from China, including supplier sourcing, negotiation, and end-to-end import execution.
• Candidates from both Executive and Manager backgrounds are welcome to apply. The final level will be decided based on experience and demonstrated ownership.
