Job summary

Herbal Chakra Pvt. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Procurement Head to lead sourcing, vendor management, and procurement planning for raw materials, packaging, and related supplies.

The role focuses on cost optimization, quality, and regulatory compliance across Ayurvedic/ FMCG operations. You will manage supplier negotiations, develop vendor networks, and coordinate with QA, warehouse, and production teams to ensure uninterrupted supply and optimal inventory levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in procurement/vendor management, preferably in FMCG/Ayurvedic/Pharma industry.
• Strong negotiation and vendor development skills.
• Knowledge of procurement compliance and documentation.
• Excellent coordination, analytical, and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in Excel, ERP/Odoo, and procurement MIS reporting

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable vendors for raw materials, packaging materials, and other operational supplies.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
• Negotiate rates, payment terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Coordinate vendor visits with QA/QC teams for approval of new suppliers.
• Develop procurement plans based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and inventory requirements.
• Ensure timely procurement to avoid production disruptions.
• Forecast material demand and maintain smooth material availability.
• Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Procure materials at the best possible rates without compromising on quality.
• Ensure procured materials meet company quality standards and Ayurvedic compliance norms.
• Support new product development by sourcing high-quality and cost-effective suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, finance, and QA departments for smooth supply chain flow.
• Prevent stock-outs and overstocking through effective planning.
• Maintain complete procurement documentation, purchase records, approvals, and supplier files.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as FSSAI, GMP, etc.
• Prepare procurement MIS reports, vendor evaluation reports, and cost-saving analysis.
• Lead, guide, and monitor the procurement team.
• Assign tasks, review performance, and ensure accountability within the department.
• Build efficient procurement systems and workflows.
