Job summary

Bobst India is seeking a Procurement Engineer at junior or senior level to ensure availability of parts and manage day-to-day supplier activities. The role covers everything from PR review, SAP PO creation, and OC follow-ups to risk handling of MRP parameters and inventory analysis.

The position requires SAP expertise, strong English communication, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment. Local and overseas supplier coordination is essential for on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduate (B.E.) or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering from reputed institute/University.
• Junior Procurement Engineer: 4–6 years for Graduates or 6–8 years for Diploma holders in Procurement; SAP experience mandatory.
• Senior Procurement Engineer: 8–10 years for B.E. graduates or 10–12 years for Diploma holders; SAP experience.
• Experience in manufacturing (Project base) industry is preferred.

• Daily MRP and review of open Purchase requisitions and convert PRs into P.O.
• Manage Overseas (Import) and local (Domestic) suppliers.
• Purchase order creation through SAP system and release to suppliers.
• Get the Order Confirmation from supplier and follow-up for OC/parts availability on time.
• Ensure timely availability of right quality and quantity parts for production & Intercompany requirements.
• Procurement of MRP, Kanban, ROP based parts for production & service support.
• Part parameters like MRP type, re-order level, safety stock calculations.

Position Title: Procurement Engineer - Junior/Senior

Position Summary

• Responsible for availability of parts as per business requirements. Will be responsible for day to day activities like follow-up with suppliers, internal functions, system updations etc.
• This position will strengthen the team in terms supplier/parts handling, address supplier issues, SAP/system SOP adherence.

Main Responsibilities

• Daily MRP and to review of open Purchase requisitions and convert the PRs into P.O.
• To manage Overseas (Import) as well as local (Domestic) suppliers.
• Purchase order creation through SAP system and release to suppliers.
• Get the Order Confirmation (O.C.) from supplier
• Follow-up with suppliers for O.C./parts availability on time.(Supplier/parts OTIF-KPI)
• Send reminders to supplier for Order confirmation & overdue parts.
• Ensure timely availability of right quality and quantity parts for production & Intercompany requirements.
• Procurement of MRP, Kanban, ROP based parts for production & service support.
• Part parameters like MRP type, re-order level, safety stock calculations.
• Visit to critical suppliers for expedite the deliveries.
• Handling of MRP exceptions (Expedite / de-expedite/ Cancellation)
• Inventory analysis (ABC/XYZ) and control in line with company target
• Coordination with stakeholders like planning, production, stores, accounts & R&D etc.
• Facilitate on time supplier bill / invoice clearance.
• Communicate to planning about dis-agreement from supplier about delivery.
• Subcontract procedure (out sourcing procedure).
• Send back the supplier rejections within stipulated period.
• Check Change Management (CM), Communicate the revised drawings to supplier by email & treat the CM in system.
• Communicate to Purchasing about the price dis-agreement by suppliers.
• Exposure for Import/Export procedures and documentation requirement.
• Knowledge of taxation and statutory requirements.

Critical Skills and Personal Attributes

• Well conversant with ERP system (SAP ECC 6.0 or higher version)
• Good analytical and domain function knowledge.
• Good communication skills in English, spoken and written and fluent in local language.
• Basic knowledge of MS office tools.
• Be a good team member and able to contribute in cross functional teams.
• Exposure to ISO systems, External Audits
• Maintain business continuity procedures and keep the business continuity manager informed of progress on corrective actions. Perform and report on programme activities as directed.

Education and Experience

• Graduate (B.E.) or Diploma in Mechanical/Production Engineering from reputed institute/University.
• Junior Procurement Engineer: 4-6 years of experience for Graduates or 68 years for Diploma holders in the Procurement function. Working knowledge of SAP as an ERP is mandatory.
• Senior Procurement Engineer: 8–10 years of experience for B.E. graduates or 10–12 years for Diploma holders in the Procurement function, with experience in using SAP as an ERP.
• Experience in manufacturing (Project base) industry is preferred.
