Job summary

Randstad in Bengaluru, India seeks a Purchase Engineer to manage procurement of Direct and Indirect Materials, RFQ handling, supplier coordination, and ERP-based purchase orders. The role interfaces with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure timely materials for manufacturing.

Qualifications include a BE/B.Tech in relevant disciplines and 1–4 years of experience in procurement or supply chain. Freshers with internships may also apply.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of Direct and Indirect Materials and Services.
• RFQ management, quotations, commercial comparisons, and purchase order processing.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers.
• Create and release Purchase Orders in ERP as per requisitions and material planning.
• Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers; onboarding activities.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Coordinate for compliance documents (RoHS, REACH, BIS, etc.).
• Work with Planning and Stores to ensure optimum inventory.
• Support cost-saving, localization, and supplier development initiatives.
• Participate in process improvement and digitalization projects within Supply Chain.
• Prepare procurement MIS reports and track KPIs.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic Purchase Engineer to join our Supply Chain team. The role involves procurement of both Direct and Indirect Materials and Services, supplier coordination, RFQ management, purchase order processing, and ensuring timely availability of materials required for production and operations.

The candidate will work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Stores teams to support business objectives through efficient sourcing and procurement practices.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

• Handle procurement activities for Direct Materials, Indirect Materials, Consumables, Packaging Materials, Services, and CAPEX requirements.
• Float RFQs, collect quotations, perform commercial comparisons, and prepare recommendation summaries.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Create and release Purchase Orders in ERP as per approved requisitions and material planning requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and resolve supply-related issues.

Supplier Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Support supplier identification, evaluation, and onboarding activities.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery parameters.
• Coordinate with suppliers for compliance documents such as RoHS, REACH, BIS, and other statutory requirements.

Inventory & Coordination

• Work closely with Planning and Stores teams to ensure optimum inventory levels.
• Monitor stock availability and support actions for low-stock and critical materials.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and priorities.

Process & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
• Support cost-saving, localization, and supplier development initiatives.
• Participate in process improvement and digitalization projects within Supply Chain.

Reporting

• Prepare procurement MIS reports and track key procurement KPIs.
• Maintain supplier databases, quotation records, and purchase documentation.
