Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of mechanical and electrical components, CAPEX, and services.
• Source domestically and internationally to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Float RFQs/RFPs, evaluate quotations, negotiate terms.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, and internal customers.
• Create and track purchase orders, monitor deliveries.
• Coordinate GRNs and invoice processing with Stores and Finance.

Job description

The role involves managing procurement activities and ensuring the timely availability of materials required for operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of mechanical and electrical components, consumables, capital equipment (CAPEX), and various services.
• Handle domestic and international sourcing activities to ensure uninterrupted supply and competitive procurement costs.
• Float RFQs/RFPs, evaluate supplier quotations, and conduct commercial negotiations on pricing, lead time, payment terms, and BAFO (Best and Final Offer).
• Collaborate with engineering teams, internal customers, and suppliers to obtain technical and commercial clarity.
• Create and manage purchase orders, monitor order status, and ensure timely material deliveries.
• Coordinate with Stores and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) and invoice processing.
• Work closely with Quality, Logistics, EXIM, Finance, Engineering, and Stores teams to meet business objectives.
• Monitor supplier performance and procurement KPIs related to cost, quality, delivery, and service levels.
• Drive digitization initiatives, procurement automation, and data-driven decision-making processes.
• Manage the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle with a sound understanding of cash flow management, working capital, and P&L impact.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategic sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline.

Required Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in Direct Procurement.
• Experience in Aerospace, Defence, Aviation, Automotive, Heavy Engineering, or Manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Proven experience handling high-volume procurement transactions and supplier management.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP MM (SAP S/4 HANA preferred).
• Expertise in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and Vendor Management.
• Experience managing domestic and international suppliers.
• Understanding of import/export processes and commercial procurement practices.
• Knowledge of procurement analytics, reporting, and process digitization.

• Aerospace or Defence procurement experience.
• Exposure to global sourcing and supplier development.
• Cost optimization and value engineering experience.
• Knowledge of commercial aspects including cash flow, working capital, and profitability impact.
