Job summary

Exide Industries is seeking a senior procurement leader to head domestic and import sourcing for raw materials, packaging, engineering items, and services for lead-acid battery manufacturing. You will drive cost savings, supplier development, and inventory optimization while ensuring supply continuity.

You will lead a team, negotiate strategic contracts, and manage cross-functional collaboration with production, planning, quality, finance, and logistics to mitigate risks and improve working

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; MBA in Supply Chain/Operations preferred.
• 12–18 years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in Lead Acid Battery, Automotive, Electrical, or Chemical industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute domestic & import sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Manage procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, MRO, and indirect purchases.
• Lead commercial negotiations, annual contracts, and supplier selection.
• Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and working capital improvement initiatives.
• Develop alternate suppliers and strengthen supplier performance through regular reviews.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, and Logistics.
• Mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and supplier diversification.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, statutory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the domestic procurement team to achieve departmental objectives.
