Role Summary:
Responsible for executing process safety engineering activities for major capital projects in the oil & gas and petrochemical sector, with a focus on safety studies, hazardous area classification, and process safety design. Supports conceptual, FEED, and EPC project phases, ensuring compliance with industry and client standards.
What Youll Do:
- - Execute and supervise process safety engineering deliverables for major capital projects
- - Conduct process safety studies including HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA, and risk assessments
- - Perform PSV evaluation, flare network sizing, and hazardous area classification (HAC)
- - Prepare safety design basis, safety philosophies, and process safety concepts
- - Develop and review process safety design for production and utility systems
- - Prepare and review Hazardous Area Classification schedules and drawings
- - Conduct process safety audits, site surveys, and participate in pre-commissioning activities
- - Ensure adherence to engineering standards and client specifications (e.g., NORSOK, DNVGL-OS, API, NFPA, ASME, BS/EN, SHELL, ARAMCO, MOBIL, NMA, DNV)
- - Review and provide guidance on P&IDs, datasheets, and other discipline engineering deliverables
- - Support process optimization studies and process simulation modeling
- - Prepare risk assessment reports, emergency response plans, fire/explosion index, chemical exposure index, safety layouts
- - Participate in design reviews, inter-discipline squad checks, and lead discussions with licensors, vendors, and clients
- - Prepare cost/manpower estimates, bid evaluations, and project proposals
- - Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, PHAWorks, PHAST, Aspen, Hysys, FlareNet for calculations and reporting
What We re Looking For (Must-Haves):
- - Demonstrated experience in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, QRA, and risk assessment studies
- - PSV and flare network sizing experience
- - Hazardous area classification expertise
- - Strong oil & gas or petrochemical EPC project background
- - Working safety design experience in petrochemicals, oil and gas, and chemicals
- - Experience with relevant engineering standards and client specifications
- - Proficiency in process safety deliverables for conceptual, FEED, and EPC projects
Good to Have (Optional - only if mentioned):
- - Hands-on experience in specialty/fine chemicals
- - Experience with process simulation modeling (Aspen, Hysys, FlareNet)
