Job summary

Bekaert is seeking a proactive Process Engineer to maintain, monitor, and improve manufacturing processes at our Lonand site in Maharashtra, India. You will coordinate with global process owners, analyze process capability, and drive improvements to reduce waste and increase stability.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, technical training, and direct support to customers and internal teams. 2–4 years of experience and BE degree are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical/ Metallurgy or Production.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in process department of a manufacturing company.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different levels and teams.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
  • Basic leadership or team coordination experience.

Responsibilities

  • Specifying and defining the process and the product specification.

  • On line process control and problem solving.
  • Technical training programme for new and existing employees.
  • Documentation and control, updating shop floor documents and CPs.
  • Provide technical support to customers including 8D reports and root-cause analysis.
  • New machine installation and troubleshooting; new product introduction.

Purpose and Mission
  • Responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and improving the manufacturing process.
Key Activities and Responsibilities

1. Specifying and defining the process and the product specification:

  • Regular follow‑up with technology center for the updating of product and process specification.
  • Co‑ordination with Global process owner on the improvement projects.

2. Data collection and analysis:

  • Monitoring and controlling of plant overall process ability.
  • Weekly and monthly process ability analysis.
  • Sharing the process ability with KLP.
  • Design a system to effectively formulate data, to give better control on the process thereby reducing the waste.
  • Perform RI analysis for repetitive problem through systematic problem solving technique.
  • Make decisions to make variations in the process with the objective to improve the process stability.
  • Check all the overall parameters of the pallet before releasing (pallet balancing).

3. On line process control and problem solving:

  • Identifying critical parameter for process.
  • Follow and define critical parameter in the process.
  • Steer the process depending upon the process related problem.

4. Technical training programme:

  • New employee training co‑ordination and evaluation.
  • Keep the basic training documents updated with reference to the existing process and machinery.
  • Keep up with latest training modes.
  • Arranging the refresher trainings for existing employees.

5. Documentation and control.

  • Updating the documents from shop floor with latest changes.
  • Develop and authorize the PFD, FMEA and CP needed for different processes.

6. Provide technical support to customer:

  • Customer complaint analysis and 8D report and action follow up from BMWIPLand other Bekaert plant.
  • Conduct joint development programs with Global technical team.
  • Follow the process ability at customer end for trail lots and take the corrective actions accordingly.
  • Visit the customer on the receipt of feedback from the customer on the quality of the supplied material.
  • Conduct test / analysis at the customer to find out the root cause of the problem.
  • Steer the process parameters to ensure the problem does not repeat at the customer.
  • Be involved in the corporation development program worked out with the customer as and when required.
  • Follow-up of raw material process ability and effective disposals action at our end.
  • Communication of TIR.

8. New machine installation and troubleshooting, New Product Introduction:

  • Responsible for making the prototype of any new product to be introduced in BMWIPL.
  • The role of refinement of the process will continue till the product passes through the different stages of the approval from the customer.
Skills
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechanical/ Metallurgy or Production.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in process department of a manufacturing company.
