Bekaert is seeking a BE Metallurgy professional with at least 3 years in the process department to lead process improvement, data analysis, and quality control on the shop floor. Qualifications

• BE (Metallurgy) with minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing process department.
• Experience in maintaining process control charts, SOPs, and process specifications.
• Knowledge of data collection, RI analysis and problem-solving methodologies such as 8D.

Responsibilities

• Specify and define process and product specifications.
• Maintain process control charts and SOPs.
• Coordinate with technology center for updates to product/process specs.

I. Purpose of the Role

• Implement changes to enhance the process capability.
• To eliminate the process of losses on equipment or Areas and to drive standards and problem-solving process.
• Co-ordinate with the technical center and Key learning Plant to solve problems and upgrade the process.
• Ensure that the projects identified in the plant are achieved to their objectives in a logical manner.
• Systematic Problem-solving techniques are implemented.
• Participate in Continual Improvement activities.
• Support Shop floor Technical and Quality improvement projects.
• Managing Bekaert Quality procedures, Methods, SOPs, Process specs, Control on Specs, Intellectual documents.

II. Roles and Responsibilities

• Specifying and defining the process and the product specification.
• Maintain process control charts, machine setting document, sop’s etc.
• Regular follow-up with technology center for the updating of product and process specification.
• Co-ordination with Global process owner on the improvement projects.
• Data collection and analysis.
• Monitoring and controlling plant overall processability.
• Weekly and monthly process ability analysis.
• Control of consumable cost
• Design a system to effectively formulate data, to give better control on the process there by reducing waste.
• Perform RI analysis for repetitive problems through systematic problem-solving techniques.
• Make decisions to make variations in the process with the objective of improving the process’s stability
• Check all the overall parameters and improve processes stability.
• Online process control and problem solving.
• Identifying critical parameters for process.
• Follow and define critical parameters in the process.
• Steer the process depending upon the process related problem
• Follow up of corrective action and its effectiveness
• Technical training program.
• New employee training co-ordination and evaluation.
• Keep the basic training documents update with ref. to the existing process and Machinery.
• Keep up with latest training modes.
• Arranging the Refresher training for Existing employees.
• Documentation and control.
• Updating the Documents from Shop floor with latest changes.
• Develop and authorize the PFD, FMEA and CP needed for different processes.
• Customer specific requirement implementation on shop floor.
• Customer support.
• Customer complaint analysis and 8D report and action follow up from BIPL and other Bekaert plant.
• Conduct joint development programs with customer.
• Be involved in the corporation development program worked out with the customer as and when required.
• Half Product quality monitoring.
• Follow-up of raw material processability and effective disposals action at our end.
• New machine installation and troubleshooting, New Product Introduction.
• Responsible for making the prototype of any new product to be introduced in.
• The role of refinement of the process will continue till the product passesthrough the different stages of approval from the customer.
