Job summary

Wabtec in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, India, seeks a Production Engineer to drive process KPIs for the Panto and HVAC SFU and to scale production capacity to meet customer demand.

You will establish and prove out processes for new products, collaborate with Production daily, and create essential documents (PDS, ODS, AIS) while supervising facility setup and process improvements across projects.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years overall experience in Production Engineering functions.
• Experience in process establishment for existing and new products.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, PFD, WI and assembly instructions is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Continuous improvement and process establishment for existing and new products.
• Drive productivity improvements and cost savings in the SFU.
• Derive process for new products and lead productionization and handover.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation (PFD, PFMEA, WI).
• Establish facility equipment and prove the process.
• Prepare assembly cell layout and plant layout.
• Respond to QRQC issues and drive time standards.
• Capacitate planning and drive capacity enhancement projects.
• Drive ergonomics improvements and measure line performance (OEE, output per person).

Mission

• Key missions of the position:
• Responsible for driving & executing process engineering KPIs for Panto, HVAC SFU (Small factory unit)
• Responsible for Production Capacity Enhancement to meet the customer demand.
• Establishment and prove out the process for New Products.
• Collaborate with Production team on day-to-day basis to assess & improve the existing processes.
• Establishment of process for new products and process documents like process data sheet (PDS), operation data sheet (ODS), Assembly instructions sheet (AIS) etc.,
• Facility creation for new projects and process improvements in existing Projects.
• Collaborate with Production team on day-to-day basis to assess & improve the existing processes.

Responsibilities

• Continuous improvement /process establishment for the existing and new products in Panto & HVAC line.
• Productivity improvement /Cost savings in the respective SFU.
• Derive Process for new Products and establish the same till Productionization and Handover.
• Generation and maintenance of key documentation (PFD, PFMEA And WI) with the supportof the CFT Team.
• Establishment of new facility equipment’s and proving the process
• Establishment of process for new products and make it’s corresponding documents like process data sheet (PDS), operation data sheet (ODS), Assembly instructions sheet (AIS) etc.,
• Preparation of assembly cell layout and plant layout.
• To respond the QRQC issues in SFU
• Establish time standards for existing and new products.
• Capacity Planning and drive Capacity Enhancement projects
• Optimize process flow through layout.
• Drive Ergonomics Improvement activities
• Drive Performance measurement of the lines through OEE, Output / person
• Monitor Oracle sanity and drive reduction of negative inventory due to MBOM error in SFU.
• Coordinate for Customer, statutory audits and take necessary action on PED BBS points.
• Capacity and capability analysis and inputs to Strap and SIOP
• Budgetary Control for Capital Investment for project and existing products.
• Preparing of Return on Investment (ROI) for each capital investments to make justification to Top management

Required Candidate Profile

Education/Training

B.E – Mechanical Engg

Professional Experience

Over all 5 to 6 years of experience in Production Engineering functions.
