Job summary

Marutee Design Engineering in Chennai is seeking an experienced Process Design Engineer to lead process engineering deliverables for oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, and power projects.

You will develop PFDs with heat balance, review P&IDs, perform line sizing and PSV/PVRV calculations, size equipment, pumps, and separators, and prepare lists and philosophies; coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Civil, and Electric teams to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with relevant experience.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, refining, petrochemical, and power projects.
• Strong knowledge of process design principles and equipment sizing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PFDs with Heat Material Balance (HMB).
• Develop and review P&IDs.
• Perform design calculations: line sizing, PSV, PVRV, equipment sizing, pump sizing, separator sizing.
• Prepare deliverables: Equipment List, Line List, Tie-in List, Utility Summary, Operating and Control Philosophies, Cause Effect Diagrams.
• Support process optimization and ensure compliance with standards and project specs.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Civil, and Electrical disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP, and technical discussions.
• Deliver complete process engineering outputs for multiple projects from concept to detailed design.

We are looking for an experienced Process Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in process engineering design for Oil Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, and Power projects. The role involves developing process engineering deliverables, performing design calculations, preparing engineering documentation, and supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) with Heat Material Balance (HMB).
• Develop and review Piping Instrumentation Diagrams (PIDs).
• Perform process design calculations, including:
  • Line sizing
  • Safety Relief Valve (PSV) sizing
  • Pressure Vacuum Relief Valve (PVRV) calculations
  • Equipment sizing

• Prepare engineering deliverables such as:

• Handle complete process engineering deliverables for multiple projects from concept through detailed engineering.

Required Skills Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in Process Engineering Design within Oil Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical, or Power industries.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering principles and equipment design.
• Hands-on experience in:
  • Process calculations
  • Equipment sizing
  • Utility calculations
  • Relief system design
  • Process documentation
• Experience in executing complete process engineering deliverables for at least 2-3 engineering projects.
• Good understanding of international engineering standards and industry best practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
