Collins Aerospace in Bengaluru, India, invites an experienced Principal Engineer to lead engineering excellence, drive DO-178 B/C QA, and ensure DO-330/DO-331 compliance across software projects. You will own QA plans, stage gates, and audits while guiding teams on process improvements and risk management.

You will report to the Engineering Division and contribute to AS9100D compliance, supplier audits, and lifecycle artefact releases, shaping aerospace software quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred with 12-15 Yrs of experience.
• Proven experience in engineering management with a strong track record of achieving quality and performance goals.
• Demonstrated leadership in driving process improvements and risk management.
• Strong analytical skills to manage complex projects and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• The Principle Engineer oversees engineering excellence across functions, ensuring quality, project performance and compliance.
• Provide Software Quality Assurance/Control as per DO-178 B/C to software projects.
• Ensure awareness and compliance as per DO330, DO331 to software projects.
• Develop/maintain Quality Assurance plans and perform stage gate reviews, audits and conformity checks.
• Support audits (SOI, customer) and approve release of lifecycle artefacts.
• Support development teams with methods and tools; propose continuous improvements.
• Verify documentation completeness and accuracy; perform supplier audits when outsourcing.

Job Description:

• The Principle Engineer is responsible for overseeing and driving engineering excellence across various functions, ensuring the highest standards of quality, project performance, and compliance. This role involves strategic planning, process optimization, and leadership to achieve set goals and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide Software Quality Assurance/Control as per DO-178 B/C to the Software projects.
• Awareness and compliance as per DO330, DO331 to the Software projects.
• Develop/Maintain Quality Assurance plan for the projects
• Perform stage gate reviews, Sample review, thread audit, Process audits on all the deliverables and complete conformity checks.
• Performing test environment audit before the formal testing activities begin
• Support SOI audits, Customer audits, as and when required
• Member of CCB/DCCB meetings and approve the release of different lifecycle artefacts
• Support the Quality Management System to meet the requirements of AS9100D by performing Internal Process Audit and other Quality audits
• Providing support to the development teams for methods and tools use
• Proposing Continuous improvements in the project
• Verifying the consistency, the completeness and accuracy of the quality documents of the software and hardware
• Perform supplier audit if the work has been outsourced to any other supplier

Basic Qualification
