Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Bengaluru seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform structural analysis of aircraft components within an integrated team. The role covers loads, static, fatigue, damage-tolerance and vibration analyses, using hand calculations and finite element methods.

You will draw load paths, prepare stress reports, support design reviews, and engage with US-based stakeholders on schedules and metrics, balancing aggressive timelines with attention to quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Hypermesh, Nastran/Patran.
• Solid mechanics and machine design fundamentals.
• Knowledge of composite materials and structural analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis of aircraft components and assemblies.
• Compute loads, static, fatigue, damage-tolerance, and vibration analyses.
• Evaluate structural integrity using hand calculations and finite element methods.
• Draw FBDs and generate loads and distributions.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performing structural analysis of Aircraft components and assemblies while working as a part of integrated team.
• Structural analysis includes calculation of loads, Static analysis, Fatigue analysis, Damage-Tolerance analysis, and Vibration analysis.
• Evaluate structural integrity of aircraft components by way of classical hand calculations and, finite element method.
• Draw FBDs based on the structural load paths. Generation of applied loads, interface loads and internal loads distributions, utilizing proper understanding and recognition of structural load paths and structural response to load.
• Prepare informal and formal documentation of strength check notes or revise existing stress report using MS Office products.
• Suggest solutions to resolve any concerns based on the stress Analysis results.
• Support design reviews, technical discussions, and engineering presentations.
• Responsible for schedule and cost for the portion of the project assigned. Responsible for engineering metrics like OTD, FPY, etc.
• Working with Cross functional team and communicating with business units in USA (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance).
• Willingness to work in extremely aggressive schedules, while still not neglecting the value of attention to details and subsequently delivering high-quality work to the customers.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's/ Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering
• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Good Knowledge of composite Materials and Analysis.
• Sound Mechanical Engineering Fundamentals.
• Proficient in the fundamentals of solid Mechanics and Machine Design.
• Good understanding of structural load paths and structural response to load.
• Hands-on experience in Analysis tools such as Hypermesh or Nastran/Patran.
• Good communication and Interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel and Presentation.
• Knowledge of Aircraft structural part design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong ownership, customer focus, and commitment to delivering quality engineering solutions.
