Job summary

Design Solutions Inc. (DSI) is seeking an experienced Principal Design Engineer – HVAC to provide technical leadership across HVAC design and engineering projects.

The role involves leading design development, multidisciplinary coordination, technical reviews, and delivery of high-quality engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in HVAC design, strong MEP consultancy experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP/BIM, and a proven track record of coordinating across PHE,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Strong experience in MEP consultancy and multidisciplinary building projects.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, engineering calculations, and equipment selection.
• Strong understanding of international HVAC codes, standards, and design practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit MEP/BIM.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination and design review experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC design activities from concept design through detailed design and project delivery.
• Develop and review HVAC systems including cooling, heating, ventilation, air distribution, chilled water, and associated systems.
• Perform and review HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and system calculations.
• Prepare and review design drawings, schematics, specifications, calculations, BOQs, and technical reports.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant international codes, standards, authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Lead multidisciplinary coordination with PHE, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, and BIM teams.
• Review BIM models, identify design conflicts, and lead clash resolution and design coordination.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers and designers.
• Participate in client, consultant, and internal design review meetings.
• Resolve complex technical issues and provide effective engineering solutions.
• Monitor project deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and technical decision-making.
• Contribute to improving HVAC design standards, workflows, and engineering processes.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit MEP/BIM.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale and complex international projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of BIM workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Experience with HVAC design and analysis software.
• Client and consultant coordination experience.
