Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in PHE/Plumbing design and engineering.
• MEP consultancy and multidisciplinary building project experience.
• Strong knowledge of water supply, drainage and plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP/BIM workflows.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead PHE design and engineering activities from concept through detailed design.
• Develop and review plumbing, water supply, drainage, sanitary and stormwater systems.
• Lead hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, equipment selection and system analysis.
• Review and approve PHE drawings, calculations, specifications, BOQs, and deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and project specs.
• Coordinate with HVAC, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, and BIM teams.
• Mentor engineers and designers; monitor deliverables for quality and timeliness.
• Assist in project planning, resource allocation and technical decision-making.

Design Solutions Inc. (DSI) is seeking an experienced Associate – PHE (Plumbing & Public Health Engineering) to lead PHE design and engineering activities across complex multidisciplinary projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and proven experience in delivering high-quality PHE solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead PHE design and engineering activities from concept development through detailed design and project delivery.
• Develop and review plumbing, water supply, drainage, sanitary, and stormwater systems.
• Lead hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, equipment selection, and system analysis.
• Review and approve PHE drawings, calculations, specifications, BOQs, and technical deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Lead coordination with HVAC, Electrical, Structural, Architectural, and BIM teams.
• Conduct design reviews, identify clashes, and lead resolution of multidisciplinary coordination issues.
• Manage technical discussions with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineers and designers.
• Monitor project deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and technical decision-making.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of PHE design standards, workflows, and engineering practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in PHE/Plumbing design and engineering.
• Extensive experience in MEP consultancy and multidisciplinary building projects.
• Strong knowledge of water supply, drainage, sanitary, stormwater, and plumbing systems.
• Excellent understanding of relevant international codes, standards, and design practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit MEP/BIM workflows.
• Strong experience in multidisciplinary coordination and clash resolution.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large-scale and complex international projects.
• UAE/GCC project experience will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of BIM coordination and multidisciplinary design management.
• Experience with PHE design and hydraulic analysis software.
• Experience in client and consultant coordination.
