Responsibilities

• Operate CNC/NC press brake for sheet metal bending as per requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, bending drawings, and work instructions.
• Verify material grade, thickness, dimensions, and job specs before bending.
• Set machine parameters: bending angle, back gauge, stroke, and pressure.
• Select and install punches, dies, and tooling for bending operations.
• Run CNC bending programs per approved drawings and perform trial bends.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and consistency of bent components.
• Inspect for defects: cracks, scratches, incorrect angles; document issues.

Job description

• Operate CNC / NC Press Brake machines for sheet metal bending as per production requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, bending drawings, and work instructions.
• Verify material grade, sheet thickness, dimensions, and job specifications before bending.
• Select and install the appropriate punches, dies, and tooling for the required bending operation.
• Set machine parameters, including bending angle, back gauge position, stroke, and pressure.
• Select and verify CNC bending programs as per the approved drawings.
• Perform trial bending and verify the bending angle and dimensions before starting batch production.
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and consistency of all bent components.
• Inspect components for cracks, scratches, deformation, incorrect angles, and other defects.
• Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, angle gauges, and measuring tapes.
• Achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Minimize material wastage, rejection, rework, and machine idle time.
• Handle sheet metal safely during loading, bending, and unloading operations.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and operator-level preventive maintenance.
• Check machine condition, tooling condition, and back gauge alignment before operation.
• Report machine breakdowns, tooling damage, and operational abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Follow machine safety procedures and use the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain 5S, housekeeping, and proper storage of punches, dies, and tools.
• Maintain production records, rejection details, and machine downtime reports.
• Ensure proper identification and transfer of bent components to the next production process.
• Coordinate with laser cutting, fabrication, quality, and production teams.
• Follow company SOPs, quality standards, and production schedules.
