Job summary

Switchgear And Control Technics in Bengaluru is seeking a Bending Machine Operator to operate and set up bending machines for metal sheets, plates, tubes, or profiles according to engineering drawings, work instructions and production requirements.

The role involves ensuring accurate dimensions, proper machine operation, product quality and adherence to safety practices, with responsibility for tool setup, inspections, and documentation as required.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Mechanical, or related trade preferred.
• Relevant experience operating bending/press brake machines in manufacturing or fabrication.
• 3-5 ITI candidates with relevant practical knowledge may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate Amada bending machine (hydraulic, mechanical, CNC or press brake) as required.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, bending schedules, dimensions and work instructions.
• Set up the machine, choose tooling, and adjust parameters per job requirements.
• Perform accurate bending operations maintaining angles, dimensions and tolerances.
• Check material specs, thickness and condition before starting.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and adjust machine for quality.

Job Summary

The Bending Machine Operator is responsible for operating and setting up bending machines to bend metal sheets, plates, tubes, or profiles according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production requirements. The operator must ensure accurate dimensions, proper machine operation, product quality, and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Amada Bending Machine, Operate hydraulic, mechanical, CNC, or press brake bending machines as per production requirements.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, bending schedules, dimensions, and work instructions.
• Set up the machine, select appropriate tooling, and adjust machine parameters according to job requirements.
• Perform accurate bending operations while maintaining specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Check material specifications, thickness, and condition before starting the operation.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and make necessary machine adjustments to achieve required quality.
• Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, angle gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities, breakdowns, or tooling issues to the supervisor/maintenance team.
• Ensure correct identification and handling of raw materials and finished components.
• Maintain production records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
• Minimize material wastage, rework, and rejection through proper machine setting and process control.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance as instructed.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and work area.
• Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and maintenance teams as required.
• Carry out other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
