Job summary

Wisecor is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive basic and detail engineering for Combined Cycle and Cogeneration power plants. The role requires deep expertise in HMBD, P&ID development, and power cycle equipment sizing, with strong vendor coordination and client-facing responsibilities as Owner’s Engineer (OE).

You will lead a senior mechanical design team, review vendor drawings, and ensure accurate plot plans and layouts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assess Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).

About the Role:

We are hiring a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in Basic and Detail Engineering for Combined Cycle and Cogeneration Power Plants. This is a senior-level engineering role, ideal for professionals with deep expertise in power cycle systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Basic & Detail Engineering activities for Combined Cycle and Cogen power plants.

• Prepare and review Heat and Mass Balance Diagrams (HMBD).

• Develop and review Power Cycle P&IDs for systems including steam, feedwater, and condensate.

• Conduct equipment sizing calculations: HP/LP bypass, Boiler Feed Pumps (BFP), Condensate Extraction Pumps (CEP), condensers, etc.

• Draft specifications for gas-fired boilers, steam turbines, and related auxiliaries.

• Prepare and assess Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).

• Review vendor drawings for key systems: Boilers, Turbine Generators (TG), and other power cycle equipment.

• Evaluate plot plans and equipment layouts for accuracy and efficiency.

• Manage interface engineering across departments and lead the mechanical design team.

• Represent as Owner’s Engineer (OE) in client meetings, providing expert resolution on technical matters and design deviations.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.

• 16–25 years of experience in power plant project engineering.

• Expertise in:

  • Combined Cycle and Cogeneration plant design.

  • HMBD and P&ID preparation and review.

  • Power cycle equipment sizing and layout.

  • Vendor coordination and TBE.

• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.

• Proven track record in interfacing with clients as OE and handling critical technical discussions.
